During a Blazblue Continuum Shift 2 national tournament, Arc System Works announced their first project under the new “Adventure Project” name, Xblaze. Along with announcing the new game, Toshimichi Mori, the series producer of BlazBlue, also stated that the second game is already under works for the project. Those guys at ASW really know how to put out titles fast, don't they?
In case you're wondering, Xblaze is expected to be out during the winter 2012 season in Japan. However, there is no information on what consoles the game will be on, and what the gameplay will be like. Instead we get a nice trailer that clocks in at almost two minutes and features character art with music.
Judging by the trailer alone, the game looks to be set in the same world as Blazblue. The reason for this is the two characters -- the sword-wielding girl and the brunette male -- both have uniforms reminiscent of the Novus Orbis Librarium (NOL for short). Not to mention the gir's design resembles Saya and her many clones from the series. The slides also refer to the game as “another Blue story,” which further suggests a connection.
We'll be looking out for more details over time on the game, along with the mysterious second game Mori alluded to as well. Let's just hope it doesn't end up being another Guilty Gear 2: Overture, Arc's unsuccessful decided to branch out.
