Multiplayer Confirmed
|
Not sure how solid the source is, but I saw a post on the mighty GameTrailers news about Dead Rising 2 multi being confirmed.
Now, I, for one, do not (at all) like the sound of this, especially considering this could degrade the quality of the single player.
Here is the post.

Here is the article from Eurogamer... quote Eurogamer
Dead Rising 2 does Have multiplayer News by Tom Bramwell Yesterday Capcom R&D kingpin Keiji Inafune has confirmed that Dead Rising 2 features multiplayer after all, despite confusion at GDC earlier this year.
"We're at a point in game history that you need to have some form of multiplayer component in a game," Inafune told journalists at Captivate 09 in Monaco last week.
"Single-player alone is not going to cut it. So rest assured we are going to put multiplayer in the game, but I can't go into specifics about what type of multiplayer as that directly relates to some of the game systems that we don't want to talk about at this event. It will be online multiplayer, so keep that in mind."
Inafune held court over an hour-long demonstration of the survival horror sequel, revealing that development partner Blue Castle Games manages to do 7,000 zombies on-screen at once - and showing us that in action.
You can read more about that demo and all the treats Dead Rising 2 has in store (double-chainsaw-fronted motorbikes, anyone?) in our extensive Dead Rising 2 preview, and check out the gameplay footage on Eurogamer TV.

Expect to see alot more of this in the future. Developers throwing multiplayer into games which have no need for it. Game like Bioshock and dead risig are prime examples of this.

Whats not to love about killing Zombie's with a friend? I think multi player is a great idea (if done well). I konw I can kill hours playing DR on my own, but thats it i'm on my own. Think about one guy distracting Zombies getting them to follow and then you flank them with a jeep or something and take out 50 at once while their not even paying attention to you.
Strategical multi player will be awesome and I don't think their putting it in just to be hip, it will play a real purpose.

*bleep*.
Why oh why did they have to add it, I don't mind if they add an extra mode in, like overtime mode as co-op. But if the main storyline is co-op I'll be very annoyed.

I suppose co-op could hurt the game, and I would prefer for them not to have it, but that's the least of my worries. What if they add deathmatch? Meh, the checklist trailer looked promising enough, so I'll trust Capcom... for now.

I doubt they'll make the main story line co-op because it will take too long to complete it (unless you can save it, but what if you want to start with another person), but a multi player mini game like Gta online yeah sure. Specific timed missions or just freeroam online would be great. Even if the main story does get a Co-op spin it will be optional so you just don't play it. Co-op does not mean compulsary.

Would it be local or online co-op, i would like to see both. Also, has no one here ever heard of drop in drop out co-op play. That would be perfect for this game. Lego Star wars and fable 2 have this, and it works fine. Another thing zombie better be FAST,L4D style. Would be far better and scarey, jeze i remember walking away from about 50 zombies because they're so slow.

Definitely no. *slaps* shut your whore mouth. Slow zombies are amazing, and far too rare nowadays.

Nah. Keep slow dead rising zombies. Theres nothing wrong with them and 7,000 zombies on screen at once, try running from that when they are L4D speed.
Yeah keep slow zombies, as for multiplayer. Wouldnt mind it but it would have to be online co-op not spilt screen
