John Marston and the Red Dead Revolver cover

Did anyone else notice that the cover guy for Red Dead Revolver (Im assuming it's Red, but its been a looong time since I played Revolver) bears a striking resemblance to John Marston in this game although they are two completely different characters?

He has basicly the same hat, and nearly identical scarring on his face. He's clean shaven, but thats about the only difference.

Im wondering if they made Marston's character model as kind of an homage to Red from the first game. I never really thought about it until I went to check on the old scores for the original and saw the box art again and was pretty shocked at the similarities of the two characters.

I reckon Australia (Europe as well? Maybe different) got the best of the covers.

Light resemblance? Yeah, apart from the exact same scars on their faces.

The fact that Red is referenced in game as a separate character, somehow denotes that John Marsten isn't the main character for Revolver.

The one from Revolver looks like Clint Eastwood, kinda. They have the same scarring though.

This post confuses me.You mention the aus cover and show a pic of a cover with the American ratings logo (the one I quoted) which isn't the Aus cover I have.

Sounds to me you are jumping to conclusions.I wasn't saying you were talking bullshit.If I was I wouldn't have hidden/sugar coated it and I would have said straight out that I thought you were talking bullshit.


I didn't doubt you at all.I was just confused because you reckoned that Aus has the better cover but put a pic up of a cover with the ESRB rating on it.Plus the fact that I live in Aus and I have the other cover.


Is yours the standard edition? Maybe the standard edition and limited edition have different covers.The limited edition has the normal PS3 box but a shiny cardboard slip with a front that folds open showing a cool picture inside the slip.
