I feel like I missed a part - but here goes..... I finish the nasty LARGE spider and I get rid of a bunch of fairies and gnomes and then go to a level where I HAVE to jump off a ledge and IMEDIATELY run fom a boulder, which is rolling and jump across drop-offs QUICKLY or get rolled over. I can't move to the right or left - only straight. I always end up flattened or I fall in to the blackness. Please! How do I get past this part? Much appreciated.

Can't find this part in all of the help sites.

I don't know why you can't turn left or right. Try jumping off or run close to the wall... I don't know. But if you manage to solve this problem, then I can give you some advice: Try casting spells when jumping, it gives you a little more time to react (and have you noticed the Flipendo sign on the boulder?).

Just like ahaha, I've been having trouble with the big rolling boulder in the sewers.
I can run forward, backward and sidestep left and right but there's no turning possibility. Anyway I eventually got to land on top of the boulder (by jumping around like crazy!!!) and ended up behind it so I thought I made it.
So very carefully I got to the end of the slope just to reallize I couldn't get past it. And when I try to use my spell on the boulder it doesn't do anything.
So.... any ideas or hints???

I think the best way is to kill yoursef by jumping into the pit and try again or make it interesting and find the game.ini file in system folder and change [HGame.baseConsole] bDebugMode=False bUseSystemFonts=True
into
[HGame.baseConsole] bDebugMode=True bUseSystemFonts=True
then press del button while playing and choose where you want to go. Try it it's funny! (and press F6 for full health and F4 to choose a level)

well i think i can help you with this problem. now if you go to the menu and you look down at the big X on the bottom left hand corner...to the right of that X there is a piece of perctment with a wand in front of it...click on that...when you are in on the first row there is a list and if you look in that list some where there is something that says auto-jump. and there is a box to the left of it. click on the inside until there is a check. and when ever you com to a jump of a ledg or a cross a pitt it will atomatically jump for you

You can move sideways. Jump to the next ledge, use left and right arrows to move sideways and then jump again. It works reasonably well.
