WWE Smackdown Segment 1: The show begins with Josh Matthews, Matt Striker and Michael Cole hyping the upcoming elimination chamber qualifying matches, as well as the reunion of Edge and Christian, who will be facing two members of the Corre. They send the action to the ring, where the acting general manager of Friday Night Smackdown, Vickie Guerrero, is standing with her boyfriend, Dolph Ziggler. She enrages the audience by shouting "Excuse me" repeatedly until the heat wears off. She announces that the first match of the show will be a qualifying match for the elimination chamber match at the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view. She announces that Ziggler will go one-on-one with someone talented enough to eliminate both Kane and the Undertaker from the forty-man Royal Rumble match... her nephew, Chavo Guerrero!
Elimination Chamber Qualifying Match Chavo Guerrero vs Dolph Ziggler Vickie Guerrero, who is in her boyfriend's corner, shouts at Chavo Guerrero. She demands that her nephew lies down and lets Ziggler pin him. After much deliberation, Chavo refuses. Ziggler and Chavo lock up, before Ziggler ducks under a clothesline and hits a back suplex from behind. Chavo gets up and retreats to the corner. Vickie screams at her nephew, ordering that he lies down. She adds that he will be fired from Smackdown if he refuses. This time, Chavo hesitantly lies down on the ground. He is reluctant to give up the match, but wants to keep his job more than anything else. Ziggler is hesitant to pin Chavo and take the victory this way. Eventually, he pins Chavo ...1 ...2 ...Ziggler gets off Chavo, having second thoughts. He helps Chavo get to his feet, much to Vickie's protest. He tells his girlfriend to shut up and resumes the match with Chavo. After a few minutes, Chavo connects with the three amigos, before heading to the top rope. He attempts to hit Ziggler with a frog splash, but Ziggler gets out of the way and Chavo hits the match. Ziggler jumps on Chavo's back with the sleeper hold and slowly but surely, Chavo fades away and falls unconscious. Chad Patton calls for the match to end as Ziggler is given the victory and a spot in the elimination chamber match.
Segment 2: WWE Smackdown returns from a commercial break as Dolph Ziggler is seen quickly walking across the parking lot. He is wheeling a suitcase behind him. The camera zooms out to show Vickie Guerrero walking after him, almost begging him to talk to her. When Dolph finally stops and looks at his girlfriend, he asks her why she tried to convince Chavo to forfeit the match. He asks if it occurred to her that he might want to win the match normally. Dolph Ziggler storms out of the arena, as Vickie runs after him, calling his name.
Tag Team Match Beth Phoenix and Natalya vs LayCool (Michelle McCool and Layla) The match begins with Natalya and Michelle McCool. Natalya gets some early offence as sends Michelle to the mat with a facebuster. She picks up her opponent but Michelle hits her with a kick to the gut, followed by a neckbreaker. She tags Layla into the match, then LayCool team up against the daughter of Jim Neidhart. They use a double Irish whip to send Natalya into the ropes, but Natalya rebounds off them and hits a double clothesline, knocking over both members of LayCool. Michelle rolls out of the ring and Natlaya attempts to lock in the sharpshooter on Layla. Layla kicks the WWE Divas Champion and crawls to the ropes before Natalya can get the hold locked in. Natalya tags Beth Phoenix into the match and the glamazon wastes no time entering the ring and hitting Layla with a powerslam. She picks up her opponent, ready to hit the glam slam, but Michelle runs into the ring and attacks Beth from behind. Natalya then runs into the ring and hits Michelle with a spear. Natalya then picks Layla back up again... She connects with the glam slam! She pins ...1 ...2 ...3!
Segment 3: Beth Phoenix and the WWE Divas Champion, Natalya, celebrate in the ring as LayCool retreat back up the ramp. Suddenly, Beth hits Natalya with the glam slam! She takes Natalya's title and exits the ring with it, leaving the official champion unconscious in the middle of the ring. The glamazon has sent a message to the champion and stolen the championship belt. The cameras zoom in on Natalya's fallen body as WWE Smackdown goes to a commercial break.
Segment 4: Scott Stanford is in the ring. He introduces the winner of the 2011 Royal Rumble match, Christian. The fans in the arena are on their feet as Captain Charisma excitedly makes his way down to the ring. When the noise dies down, Stanford asks Christian how it felt when he won the biggest Royal Rumble match in history. Christian tells Stanford about how amazing it felt to be the last man standing, how proud he felt to defeat thirty-nine other superstars and how excited he is to be on the road to Wrestlemania. Stanford then asks him if the fact that he was unconscious when he won the match affects how he is feeling heading into the biggest match of his professional career. Christian is insulted and he asks Stanford if he believes that Christian doesn't deserve to be in the main event of Wrestlemania. Stanford quickly states that he wasn't trying to say that. Christian tells Stanford that he has waited his entire life for this match and that he deserves it more than anyone else. Suddenly, a familiar noise is heard and Michael Cole announces something that we usually expect to hear on Raw, rather than Smackdown. He announces that he has received a message from the anonymous Raw general manager on his iPad. he reads, "Since Vickie Guerrero unprofessionally left the arena in the middle of a show, I am taking charge of Smackdown tonight. Christian... In order to enter the Royal Rumble match, you attacked one of MY superstars, David Hart Smith. Do you expect to get away with it? Let me tell you now... You won't. Everyone is assuming that the Smackdown elimination chamber match at the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view will feature Edge defending his world heavyweight championship. It won't. It will feature Christian defending the title shot he earned at Wrestlemania! That's what happens when you mess with one of MY superstars!" Scott Stanford is quick to ask Christian how he feels about this, but Christian pushes him away and exits the ring. He walks up the ramp, looking absolutely furious.
Segment 5: Todd Grisham is backstage with Wade Barrett, Ezekiel Jackson, Heath Slater and Justin Gabriel, the group collectively known as the Corre. Grisham asks which members they have chosen to face Edge and Christian tonight. It is Heath Slater who speaks first, reminding Grisham that all four members of the Corre are equals, so they agreed together which two members will face Edge and Christian and which two members will be left to team up with Cody Rhodes in the upcoming six-man tag team match. Barrett takes the microphone and announces that he will be competing in the main event and his partner will be the physical specimen known as Ezekiel Jackson. He passes the microphone to Ezekiel, who begins to speak about the main event of tonight's show, before he is interrupted by Raw's CM Punk, the leader of the New Nexus. Grisham asks Punk what he's doing an Smackdown and Punk tells him that he is here to see the Corre in action. Smirking, Punk walks away and the four members of the Corre are left speechless.
Six-Man Tag Match The Corre (Justin Gabriel and Heath Slater) and Dashing Cody Rhodes vs Rey Mysterio, Kofi Kingston and Big Show Before the match begins, CM Punk's theme plays and the straight-edge savior joins Michael Cole, Josh Matthews and Matt Striker at the announcers' table. Dashing Cody Rhodes and Rey Mysterio kick the match off as the legal men. They lock up, until Rhodes manages to get Mysterio into a headlock. Mysterio manages to get out of the hold and pushes Rhodes into the ropes. After rebounding off the ropes, the dashing superstar runs into a hurricanrana from Mysterio, who follows up by climbing to the top rope and hitting a diving splash! He pins ...1 ...2 ...Cody gets his shoulder off the mat. Mysterio tags Kofi Kingston into the match and Kofi leaps into action, quickly hitting Rhodes with a roundhouse kick. The WWE Universe are on their feet as Kofi follows up with the boom drop. He pins ...1 ...2 ...Cody kicks out. Cody begins crawling towards his corner, in attempt to tag in one of his partners. However, Kofi pulls him away and hits a suplex. Kofi signals for his finisher, trouble in paradise. Cody slowly gets up to his feet... Trouble in p- No! Cody ducks under in and tags in Heath Slater! Slater enters the match and attempts to hit Kofi with a clothesline, but Kofi ducks under it. Slater turns around... trouble in paradise by Kofi! Luckily, Slater just happens to fall into his team's corner, allowing Cody to tag himself in. He enters the match and attacks Kofi from behind. Cross Rhodes! Sensing that the end is near, Big Show enters the ring and hits Cody with a huge chokeslam! The referee orders the Big Show to leave the ring as both Cody and Kofi are down. They both crawl towards their respective corners in attempt to tag their partners in. Cody tags Justin Gabriel in. Gabriel runs into the ring and pulls Kofi away from his corner. He picks Kofi up and hits a DDT. He climbs to the top rope... 450 splash! He pins ...1 ...2 ...3!
Segment 6: The other two members of the Corre, Wade Barrett and Ezekiel Jackson, come down to the ring to celebrate with Heath Slater and Justin Gabriel. As the Corre and Dashing Cody Rhodes celebrate in the ring, CM Punk states that the Corre is okay, but not great. he leaves the announcers' table and storms backstage. Barrett watches Punk leave, wondering he could possibly not be impressed by the Corre's performance tonight.
Segment 7: Tony Chimel introduces us to Ricardo Rodriguez, Alberto Del Rio's personal ring announcer. Del Rio's theme music hits and we see him arrive in an impressive, classic car as Rodriguez announces his name. Del Rio enters the ring and is handed a microphone by Rodriguez. On Del Rio's command, a replay on the screen, showing how Del Rio indirectly eliminated the Undertaker and Kane during the Royal Rumble match, distracting them and allowing Chavo Guerrero to take advantage. Del Rio claims that he did this for a reason, telling the world that he planned to send a message to the Undertaker. According to Del Rio, the Undertaker's undefeated streak will end at this year's Wrestlemania. He challenges the Undertaker to a match at Wrestlemania 27, then begins to leave the ring. However, before he can leave, he is interrupted by the pyro of Kane's entrance and the big red monster walks down to the ring with a smirk on his face, as Del Rio takes a few steps behind him to the back of the ring.
Del Rio despairs in the ring as Kane enters and snatches the microphone right from the hands of Alberto Del Rio. Kane reminds Del Rio that he has faced the Undertaker at Wrestlemania twice in the past, so he knows what the last outlaw is capable of when his streak in on the line. Del Rio opens his mouth to speak, but before anything comes out, Kane grabs him by the throat. As Del Rio tries and fails to pull Kane's hand off his throat, Kane uses his other hand to hold the microphone up to mouth level and tells Del Rio that Kane's brother wasn't the only monster he angered at the Royal Rumble. Kane informs Del Rio that they have an Elimination Chamber qualifying match against each other later tonight, so Del Rio might not even make it to Wrestlemania. He releases Del Rio, who falls to the mat, gasping for breath. Satisfied, the big red monster exits the ring and makes his way back up the ramp.
Segment 8: Edge is in his locker room, putting on his boots for his upcoming match. Knocks on his door can be heard and Christian enters the room and greets his best friend. He asks Edge if he is ready to show the Corre why they were able to win the tag team championships seven times. Edge enthusiastically says yes. Christian asks if Edge minds that they'll be competing at Wrestlemania if Christian wins the elimination chamber match and if Edge keeps his championship up until then. Edge tells Christian that nobody deserves a title shot more than Captian Charisma and he looks forward to having a great match at Wrestlemania 27.
Elimination Chamber Qualifying Match Kane vs Alberto Del Rio The match begins with Kane hitting a huge uppercut to the throat, knocking Alberto Del Rio right off his feet. Del Rio retreats by rolling out of the ring. Kane follows Del Rio and gives him a big boot to the face. He picks Del Rio up and Irish whips him into the steel steps. Kane pushes Del Rio back into the ring before entering the ring himself. He picks Del Rio up, but Del Rio quickly hits an enzuigiri, which knocks the big red monster down to one knee. Del Rio then knocks Kane to the floor completely by hitting a dropkick. He goes for an early cover ...1 ...2 ...Kane stops the pin by throwing Del Rio off him! Kane sits up, before getting up to his feet. Del Rio charges at Kane, but is hit with a tilt-a-whirl slam. Kane goes to the top rope, probably attempting to hit a flying clothesline. However, Del Rio is ready. He hits a step-up enzuigiri, knocking hit opponent off the top rope. He picks up Kane, but he is taken by surprise. Out of nowhere, Kane grabs Del Rio By the throat. Chokeslam from Hell! Luckily, Del Rio lands right beside the bottom rope and instinctively rolls out of the ring. The referee begins to count Del Rio out ...1 ...2 ...3 ...4! Del Rio begins to stir ...5 ...6 ...7! Del Rio gets back up to his feet! ...8! Del Rio is about to enter the ring, but he decides not to. He talks aloud, "I don't even want to be in the chamber match!" Kane is left standing in the ring, watching Del Rio walk backstage ...9 ...10! Kane wins by countout and he is going to Elimination Chamber!
Segment 9: A hurt Alberto Del Rio is walking backstage, favouring his back. Todd Grisham walks up to him and asks him why he threw away such a great opportunity. Del Rio says that he doesn't need Grisham's opinion and that he can become world champion any time. He states that there is something he wants more than to earn a title match at Wrestlemania. Grisham asks him what he is talking about and Del Rio tells him that he wasn't lying when he said he was going to end the streak and that he has just proved that he will do anything or give up anything to be the man who defeats the Undertaker at Wrestlemania.
Tag Match Edge and Christian vs The Corre (Wade Barrett and Ezekiel Jackson) Edge and Ezekiel Jackson kick the match off as the legal men and Jackson immediately shows off his strength by pushing Edge off his feet with one hand. The rated-R superstar doesn't take this too kindly as he springs into life and starts sending Jackson a load of left and right hands. When Jackson is dazed, Edge takes the opportunity to get a drop toehold, which sends Jackson to the mat. The world heavyweight champion begins to stomp on Jackson. He surprises everyone in the arena by stalking his opponent for the spear at such an early point in the match. Sensing danger, Jackson instantly crawls to his corner and tags Wade Barrett into the match. Edge still has adrenaline flowing through his body, so he takes it out on Barrett, hitting him with a dropkick, before picking him up and sending him back down with a huge suplex. Edge throws Barrett into the corner of the ring and tags Christian into the match. Christian climbs directly from the apron onto the top rope as Edge hits Barrett with the Edge-O-Match. As Edge leaves the ring, Christian follows up with a diving splash. He pins Barrett ...1 ...2 ...Barrett kicks out!
Christian picks Barrett up, but Barrett hits him with an uppercut, stunning Christian long enough for Barrett to hit a backbreaker. With Christian down, Barrett takes the opportunity to recover in the corner of the ring. Once Christian is back on his feet, Barrett sends him back down with a big boot to the face. Barrett climbs to the second rope and prepares to hit an elbow drop from there. Christian raises his knees, giving Barrett an uncomfortable landing. Both men are down and the slowly crawl to their partners. Barrett tags Jackson back into the match and Jackson enters the ring in time to stop Christian from tagging Edge back in. Jackson knocks the wind out of Christian with an elbow drop to the back. He picks Christian up in the military press position, but Christian slips out and and lands behind Jackson. he goes for the killswitch! No! Jackson counters by pushing Christian away into the corner of the ring. Edge blind tags himself into the match, just before Christian is hit with the Book of Ezekiel! Edge enters and runs over to the other side of the ring, where he spears Barrett right off the apron. Jackson still hasn't noticed that Edge is now the legal man and is trying to pin Christian. The referee informs him that Edge tagged himself in. Edge is stalking his opponent. Jackson turns around and is met with a huge spear! ...1 ...2 ...3!
Segment 10: Christian gets to his feet, favouring his back. When get finally gets up, he falls back down to his knees. Seeing that something is wrong, Edge tends to his partner and asks him if he is okay. Christian responds by pushing Edge out of the way and attacking Ezekiel Jackson. He picks him up and hits him with the killswitch! He begins stomping on Jackson in the corner as Edge tries to calm him down. Michale Cole announces that he has received a message from Raw's general manager, ordering Christian to stop this immediately. Christian ignores this continues attacking Jackson until referees run down to the ring to pull him off. Cole announces that the Raw general manager is reversing the referee's decision due to the actions of Christian. The Corre has won the match! Outside the ring, Wade Barrett raises his arms in the air. Christian leaves the ring and attacks him too, throwing Barrett into the crowd barrier. Cole continues announcing that the Raw general manager is outraged. Christian slowly walks up to Cole, who announces the Raw general manager will fire Christian if he touches the voice of WWE. Christian ignore this threat and knocks Cole off his feet with one punch. Christian leaves the arena in anger as the show ends.
