ICW 2003 - ???? - Adrenaline preview

A NEW WRESTLING ORGANISATION

July 2003

Word has reached us that a new wrestling organisation is taking shape. Apparently a currently unnamed businessman is looking to develop a wrestling product to fill the gap in the industry. Although the business is still looking to set it’s foundations names involved to fill the roster are said to include Steve Corino, Ken Shamrock and Vader. Whether these reports are true is not yet clear and it would not be the first time a promise has failed to deliver.

[This is my first diary and is purely fantasy. I started at National level below NWA TNA. Any similarities in content or layout with anyone else’s diary is a genuine coincidence. Images are not a strength of mine – sorry for any disappointment.]

Genesis

GENESIS

September 13th 2003

At the Stampede Corral: Calgary, Alberta, Canada

Pre-event match:
Briscoe Boys vs. Kaz Hayashi and Jody Fleisch

[An opening tag team match full of nice, crisp wrestling. Young brothers Mark and Jay Briscoes win with a nice back suplex and neckbreaker combination move.]

Main Show

[Fireworks brighten up the Stampede Corral and deafen those in attendance for the opening International Championship Wrestling event.]

‘Wrestling fans…introducing the ICW broadcast announce team…Tony Schiavone and Diamond Dallas Page’

[Schiavone and Page make their way to the broadcast position to a few cheers from the crowd remembering the two most notably from their WCW days. DDP is currently a retired wrestler having suffered an injury in May 2002 and as a result his WWE contract was allowed to expire.]

Schiavone: ‘Welcome fans to the debut of International Championship Wrestling. Have we got an action packed show for you tonight? A four man Heavyweight Title Tournament involving Taiyo Kea, Steve Corino, Vader and Ken Shamrock. Two semi final matches and the winner takes the championship in the final decider. Also a four way exhibition match involving Marc Mero, TAKA Michinoku, Psychosis and Jeff Hardy, not forgetting Christopher Daniels going up against Juventud Guerrera.

DDP: Man, it’s enough to make me want to break what’s left of the bones in my body just to get in on the action.

Schiavone: I’m sure this is going to shape up to be the greatest event in the history of our sport!

DDP…Tony ummm…

[DDP is cut off by an electric guitar intro. Bret Hart appears through the curtain to a pop as big as the fans in attendance can muster. Hart is surprisingly dressed in a suit. The internet rumours of his return to the wrestling ring appear to be far from the truth.]

Hart: It’s good to be back in a wrestling ring.

[The crowd cheers]

Hart: It’s good to be back in a wrestling ring, in CANADA!

[The crowd erupts]

Hart: I’m out here to introduce International Championship Wrestling to the world! It seems a few people have lobbied together to get a wrestling show focused on WRESTLING, available to the masses. I’m happy to say that I’m a member of that group and that I’m actually responsible for the on-air content of ICW. You could say I am in charge, the manager or whatever title you like but there’s one thing for sure I still am The Best There Is, The Best There Was and The Best There Ever Will Be!!

[The crowd cheers once more]

Hart: So sit back and enjoy something that’s been missing for sometime. A sport that I am proud to be associated with, delivered from the newest provider out there. Welcome to Genesis – The Birth of a New Wrestling World!

[As Bret Hart makes his way backstage, the intros for the first match begin]

Schiavone: Well let’s get it started with our first match with four-way action.

Page: Do the math. Four men one winner, three guys are going to be disappointed with the outcome of this match.

Psychosis vs. Marc Mero vs. TAKA Michinoku vs. Jeff Hardy

[Psychosis, Marc Mero and TAKA Michinoku come out to a fairly decent reaction. The biggest pop is reserved for Jeff Hardy however. Remembered for his WWE run, Jeff Hardy is trying to get his wrestling career back on track. His WWE career ended on a bit of a low note due to claims of poor work-rate caused by poor behaviour and drug use. He comes to ICW on the back of a ROH appearance in July which he was heckled and boo’ed for. Jeff Hardy has a lot to prove to the wrestling world and to himself.]

Schiavone: Four way action here at Genesis, Dallas Page, what do you do in a match like this?

Page: Have eyes in the back of your head and don’t trust anyone!

Schiavone: Let’s go to the ring for the action.

[All competitors put on a fine display. Marc Mero has experience in the ring and appears to be using a style of wrestling used when he was with WWF when he was ‘Marvellous’. Jeff Hardy shows a little bit of ring rust but he has to get rid of it quickly as the other competitors are going at it hard. Psychosis and TAKA Michinoku are at their high flying best, however, they are not going too over the top with constant high flying and show their normal wrestling abilities as well.

Psychosis and TAKA Michinoku take it to the outside. Michinoku dumps Psychosis over the top rope before running off the ropes and hitting a Spaceman Quebrada. TAKA continues to pound on Psychosis on the outside as Mero gets the better of Hardy inside the ring. Psychosis manages to recover and turn the tables on TAKA Michinoku on the outside before going to the top rope and hitting a corkscrew senton. Both men are on the floor and out for the count. Mero tries to take the intiative and goes for the TKO. Hardy reverses it and hits the Twist of Fate. He climbs the turnbuckle and goes for the Swanton Bomb.]

Schiavone: Jeff Hardy is on the top turnbuckle.

Page: Mero is in a whole heap of trouble.

Schiavone: Woah he hit it, 1-2-3, it’s all over!!

Page: Man, look at everyone they are all flat out!

Schiavone: They gave it there all for ICW’s first show and what a match it was.

[Hardy gets up to acknowledge the fans and his win. Mero rolls to the outside to recover and there are some beginnings of life on the outside with Michinoku and Psychosis. All four men make it backstage…eventually]

Schaivone: Well fans…

[Sounds of bagpipes being played over the speaker system interrupt Schiavone.]

Schiavone: …well look who it is!

Page: It’s Roddy Piper, Schiavone. He’s came to ICW as well!

Schiavone: He is scheduled to be here tonight but in what capacity, I don’t have a clue!

Page: You’re right Schiavone, you don’t have a clue.

[Roddy Piper makes his way to the ring shaking the fans hands on his way down. He enters the ring, microphone in hand.]

Piper: Well here we are in Calgary, Alberta, Canada!

[Cheap Pop from the crowd]

Piper: And man when I heard there was a party going on involving wrestling it took me all of about two seconds to pick up the phone and get myself involved. You see, I haven’t been doing a lot lately so I’ve just been waiting and biding my time. A new promotion offers Roddy Piper a new beginning. What that new beginning is, I don’t know but I’m going to take my time to see what my next step is going to be. But for now, I get to introduce the first semi-final in the ICW Heavyweight title tournament.

First from Lynwood, California, standing six feet five inches tall and weighing in at four hundred and fifty pounds. He’s a big bad fighting machine, he is VADER!

And from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada…at six feet and an inch tall…weighing in at two hundred and forty two pounds. This is Steve Corino.

Steve Corino vs. Vader
ICW Heavyweight Title Tournament Semi Final

Schiavone: Well there’s no need for me to point out the size difference between these two competitors.

Page: Piper is bang on when he says that Vader is a big bad fighting machine. A beast of a competitor that’s for sure.

Schiavone: Speaking of Piper here comes the man to join us.

[The action begins as Corino looks for a way to get the better of Vader without being overpowered]

Piper: Man here we go, first semi-final in this tournament to crown the first ICW Heavyweight champion. Wish I were out there, although I don’t completely envy Steve Corino in this match.

Schiavone: I don’t blame you one little bit.

Page: It’s Vader time baby!

[Corino tries to use his speed advantage to overwhelm Vader. He does get a measure of success getting in a few blows but Vader soon takes over when he reverses and irish whip and then takes Corino down with an almighty clothesline, dropping Corino like a sack of potatoes. While Vader slows the pace to his own level, Corino desperately tries to get to his feet heading for a corner. He is followed by a beast of a man who smothers him in the corner with some vicious shots. Corino in a precarious position has to fight back and each man is striking the other. A vicious headbutt by Vader stops Corino’s fight back. Vader man handles Corino and drags him into another clothesline.

Vader is in control of the match so early and Corino is not getting much offense. As he is dragged up from the floor, Corino scores with a few blows to the mid section. The blows barely even wind Vader as he delivers another headbutt and then launches him into the corner. He follows this up with a devastating splash in the corner. This drops Corino to the floor when Vader pulls away from the corner. Vader tries the pin but Corino raises a shoulder at two. Vader throws Corino into the corner and attempts another splash. Corino has it scouted though and moves out of the corner and then tires to keep on top of Vader with a flurry of fast paced moves. He has brief success before Vader overwhelms Corino and powers out of the move with his superior strength. This dictates the pace of the match with Corino having to counter Vader’s power and strength with speed and intelligence.

Vader signals for the powerbomb. As he lifts Corino up, the potential victim wriggles free and slips off behind Vader. Corino lands on his feet and tries to hit the Old-school Expulsion but he is pushed way and into the corner. Vader charges in, but into a pair of raised boots. Corino uses a roll up, with feet on the second rope! The referee hasn't seen it and he counts to three declaring Corino the winner.]

Schaivone: No! What a disgrace, that was blatant!

Page: Blatantly effective, you might say.

Schiavone: Vader’s been cheated by Steve Corino!

Piper: Oh boy, one thing you don’t want to do is make Vader angry

[Corino goes into an over the top celebration for his victory. Vader is livid and has words with the referee but stops short of assaulting him, instead he turns towards Corino and the pair begin to brawl. A host of referees and backstage officials run to the ring and separate the two. One half shepherd Corino backstage while the other half try to hold Vader back from catching up to Corino.]

Schiavone: Vader does not look happy. His chances of becoming the first ICW Heavyweight champion have been cruelly taken away from him.

Piper: It looks like being the first champion meant a lot to the guy.

Page: Vader’s a big man, he will get over it.

The hostility that had been at ringside previously settles down as Piper one again announces the next match

Piper: Alright next up we’ve got the second semi-final. First up, from Honolulu, Hawaii…standing six feet and an inch tall…weighing two hundred and thirty four pounds...ladies and gentlemen I give you Taiyo Kea!

And his opponent. From Macon, Georgia at five feet eleven inches tall and weighing in at two hundred and five pounds. He is the World’s Most Dangerous Man, he is KEN SHAMROCK!!

Taiyo Kea vs. Ken Shamrock
ICW Heavyweight Title Tournament Semi Final

Schiavone: What a match on offer here! Taiyo Kea, the Hawaiian superstar who has spent a lot of his wrestling career fighting in Japan against Ken Shamrock who is more know as a mixed martial arts specialist but also deadly in the wrestling ring

Page: Two men who are deadly in the ring, I would say Schiavone. They are the kind of wrestlers who punish mistakes with deadly effect. No room for error with guys like these

[Both men start on the offense looking to put each other into submission predicaments. Each man puts the other into various arm locks but no sooner is one applied is it reversed by the other. There are a lot of standing switches. Taiyo Kea grounds Shamrock to see if there is a better chance of gaining the upper hand on Shamrock. For each submission manoeuvre Taiyo Kea executes, Ken Shamrock has an answer. The match follows this format right the way through with the occasional short period of successful attack enjoyed by each party.

Shamrock catches Taiyo Kea as he tries to throw a right hand. A bit weary from the match, he has no answer to a belly to belly suplex execution. Shamrock quickly positions himself at the feet of Taiyo Kea and applies the Ankle Lock submission]

Schiavone: Taiyo Kea is digging deep and he is trying to reach those ropes!

Page: He’s a long way away

[Taiyo Kea is a tough guy but Ken Shamrock has the Ankle Lock securely fastened and is applying extreme pressure. The realisation that there is no way out of the move, no way to get to the ropes and the excruciating pain he feels all cause Taiyo Kea to tap out.]

Schiavone: Kea taps! Shamrock wins and progresses to the final!

Page: Woah! Shamrock got the job done against a legit tough guy. I’m impressed.

[We go backstage where we see Steve Corino by himself ready to talk into the camera]

Corino: Well here I am, ‘The King of Old school’, Steve Corino in another wrestling promotion naturally ascending to the top of the mountain. Vader – hard lines man but intelligence will always win against slow dim-wittedness. Next it’s Ken Shamrock ‘The World’s Most Dangerous Man’. I don’t know which circus you got that title from but you aint involved with no circus freaks here. Shamrock, I know you are quaking in your most dangerous boots having to compete with me. You know it, I know it and the *bleep*s watching know it! I am going to be crowned the first ever ICW Heavyweight champion! I’m the Gift from God and I’m here to stay – Shamrock prepare to be taken to the old school.

Schiavone: Well Corino is building himself up ahead of his match with Shamrock but I don’t know if he is trying to convince us or himself

Page: Well it’s best to get off your chest anything you want to say backstage because there’s no time to say anything in that ring

Juventud Guerrera vs. Christopher Daniels

Schiavone: Here comes Christopher Daniels who is scheduled to face off against Juventud Guerrera next. I’m looking forward to some fast paced wrestling here fans.

Page: Juventud is a well-known ‘cruiserweight’ wrestler if you will

Schaivone: That’s right and he’s wrestled in Mexico and the USA to a good measure of success but Christopher Daniels here is making waves in the wrestling world.

Page: It should be a fascinating contest Schiavone

[A good bout to break up the Heavyweight tile tournament. This match succeeded in delivering what it promised high-speed quality wrestling both in the ring and in the air by two of the best prospects in ICW.

The match comes to a close when Daniels manages to hit the Last Rites on Guerrera allowing him to pick up the win. Christopher Daniels celebrates the win taking the acclaim from the fans. Juventud Guerrera recovers and pushes the referee away. Guerrera spins Daniels around and hits the Juvi Driver! With the damage done to Christopher Daniels, Guerrera leaves the ring and heads backstage.]

Steve Corino vs. Ken Shamrock
ICW Heavyweight title

Schiavone: So this is what it comes down to. Steve Corino and Ken Shamrock meet in the ICW ring to decide who becomes Heavyweight champion!

Page: Not only do you get the right to be Heavyweight champion but you also get the bragging rights to be known as the first ever.

[ICW’s first main event is to decide it’s first Heavyweight champion. Two of their most over workers squaring off for the right to wear the gold. This match should define the direction of ICW and how it aims to progress.

The match was an exciting one full of Corino influenced psychology that allowed the match to run fluidly. Corino had a lot more offense in this match but Shamrock appeared to have too much fight inside to allow Corino to win.

The match takes a turn for the worse when outside influences take over. Taiyo Kea and Satoshi Kojima come running down the aisle and into the ring! Ken Shamrock turns around to see what the interruption is. Kojima is on the apron distracting the referee. Taiyo Kea enters the ring from the other side and hits the Hawaiian Smasher! Kea leaves the ring, the damage done! Corino makes the cover, Kojima drops off the apron. The referee turns around to see the pin 1...2...3! Corino wins the title!]

Schaivone: No not like this!

Page: We have our first champion!

[Corino, Taiyo Kea and Satoshi Kojima tie Ken Shamrock up in the ropes, then start punching away at him until referees run down and break it up].

Schiavone: This is absolutely disgusting. These guys have ruined our first ever main event!!

[Corino holds his title aloft with Kea and Kojima either side as Genesis comes to a close.]

Attendance: 3 891

America One announces television deal with International Championship Wrestling

America One has announced a partnership with new wrestling organisation International Championship Wrestling (ICW). A spokesperson for America One said ‘We were very impressed with the business plan put to us by ICW. They laid out an impressive pitch and we are happy that they meet the criteria of the type of programming we wish to showcase on America One.’.

The show is under the working name ‘Adrenaline’ whether this name is kept for the launch remains to be seen. The first episode is due to be screened Friday 03 October at 10pm

However there is a probationary period of 15 weeks and the late evening Friday night time slot is not exactly the best position for new fans to watch the new wrestling show. ICW officials remain upbeat, however. ‘This is another landmark stepping-stone in turning ICW into a viable long term wrestling entertainment company. We hope to work effectively with America One and we are excited that the company has a chance to reach new fans weekly via television,’ a member of ICW management was quoted as saying.

Adrenaline 03/10/2003

Adrenaline

03 October 2003

Live from Detroit, Michigan

Announcers: Tony Schiavone and Diamond Dallas Page

Schiavone: Welcome fans to the first ever episode of Adreanline brought to you by International Championship Wrestling. I'm Tony Schiavone alongside 'Diamond' Dallas Page and we're looking forward to ringing you some exciting wrestling action live from Detroit Michigan.

Page: You better believe it Tony. This one is going to be intense, it's time for everyone to feel the ICW bang on American One

Super Crazy vs Jeff Hardy

[The first ever Adrenaline kicks of with high-flying action. This is Super Crazy’s debut in ICW. The Mexican luchadore is well travelled but is most remembered in the USA for his time spent at ECW. Jeff Hardy won at ICW’s debut show Genesis in a four way match.

A match full of high spots and death defying action. Super Crazy sacrifices his body a little too much however as Jeff Hardy manages to gain the advantage. A winded Super Crazy gives Jeff Hardy the perfect opportunity to hit the Twist of Fate.

Jeff Hardy has Super Crazy down on the canvas and is ascending the corner. Through the air, Swanton Bomb! Cover 1....2....3.

Schiavone: What a start to Adrenaline! Jeff Hardy with a victory over the aptly named Super Crazy

Page: I like how Jeff Hardy almost commits suicide to pick up the win, he beat Super Crazy to the punch who I’m sure would have done the same.

Schiavone: Well…

[Schiavone is cut off by Steve Corino’s music]

Schiavone: You had to know that it wouldn’t take long for this individual to make his presence known

Page: The champ is in the house!

Schiavone: More like the cheat is in the house

[Steve Corino, Taiyo Kea and Satoshi Kojima come to the ring. Corino, ICW Heavyweight title perched on his left shoulder gets on the microphone. He announces that at Genesis he took his divine right to take the ICW Heavyweight title as his own. Genesis also saw the beginning of the new leading faction in the wrestling world. He has joined forces with Satoshi Kojima and Taiyo Kea. Recognised internationally and praised for their skills – everyone can call them International Acclaim.

Bret Hart’s music hits as he comes to the ring. He says that ‘International Acclaim’ if you must ruined the spectacle, which was ICW’s first main event. It could and should have been a match for the ages to go down in history but they pissed all over it. As a result, tonight on the very first edition of Adrenaline, Satoshi Kojima and Taiyo Kea will take on the team of Vader and Ken Shamrock. Corino looks a bit upset. He tells Bret that he should not make an enemy out of Steve Corino or for that matter International Acclaim as violence is human nature and you are it’s next victim. With that International Acclaim attack Hart. It doesn’t last very long until Vader and Ken Shamrock come running to the ring. International Acclaim make a hasty retreat to the outside. As Bret Hart gets back to his feet, he and Corino on the outside, exchange verbal threats.]

Schiavone: Corino and Bret are clashing already

Page: The champ versus the boss, they should settle it in the ring

Schiavone: I’m sure Bret would love to but hi body just can’t take it anymore.

Marc Mero vs Juvi Guerrera

[Two competitors who both lost at Genesis. Marc Mero who took part in the four-way match won by Jeff Hardy and Juventud Guerrera lost to Christopher Daniels]

Schiavone: Juventud wasn’t happy about losing at Genesis…

Page: Nobody wants to lose. Juventud let his emotions get the better of him and lashed out because of it.

[Mero is a step of the pace of a quicker Juventud Guerrera. At some points it looks like Juventud is toying with Mero. For all the cockiness it only takes one mistake for Mero to take control and take the fight to Juventud. Mero slams Juventud to the ground , Juventud rolls to the corner.

While Mero fires up the crowd, Guerrera is removing the turnbuckle pad! Marc Mero comes over...but Juventud grabs him by the tights and uses the leverage to slingshot Marc Mero face first into the exposed steel turnbuckle! Juventud Guerrera rolls up the stunned Marc Mero, and even puts his feet on the second rope to add insult to injury to pick up the win.

Schiavone: What a display of cheating from Juventud Guerrera, he’s not the man I remember

Page: Well to become the man that everybody remembers maybe he needs to worry less about the crowd and more about winning

[Christopher Daniels comes into the ring as Juventud is celebrating. He stops when he sees Daniels and they both lock into a tense staredown. It ends as Juventud backs away and rolls out of the ring]

Schiavone: Woah, we have some afters from Genesis

Page: I don’t know maybe Daniels came for his match a little too early and it’s just an unfortunate coincidence that they ended up in the same ring again.

TAKA Michinoku vs Christopher Daniels

[Daniels is still in the ring having came down as Guerrera was celebrating his win. His opponent for tonight is TAKA Michinoku. The former WWF Light Heavyweight champion has talent in abundance and is looking to kick-start his ICW career having been involved in the four way match that Jeff Hardy won at Genesis.

Michinoku and Daniels get down to a quality filled contest. Daniels and TAKA are both good in the air and technically sound. It is hard to pick a winner between the two. In the end it turns out that deciding factor is not of their making

Juventud Guerrera comes back down the aisle and starts mouthing off at Daniels. This distracts him for a brief moment. It is all that TAKA Michinoku needs who hits the Michinoku Driver. It's over! With Daniels laid out on the canvas, Juventud Guerrera enters the ring. He picks up Daniels and hits the Juvi Driver! Juvi Guerrera eventually leaves, having caused enough damage.]

Schiavone: We should have seen this one coming. The bad blood between the two has threatened to boil over from day one.

[We go backstage where International Acclaim are standing. Corino stands in the middle flanked by Satoshi Kojima and Taiyo Kea]

Corino: Bret Hart wants to rip apart International Acclaim before it has even got off the ground. Good! It shows that you are scared Bret Hart. Scared off the most dominant group in the world today. Scared of these two monsters beside me and scared of The King of Oldschool. You can make as many matches as you want Bret but we will always come out on top, strong, victorious and showing our dominance.

Full Force vs Vader and Ken Shamrock

Schiavone: Fans, it’s time for our main event. The team of Satoshi Kojima and Taiyo Kea against Ken Shamrock and Vader.

Page: This has destruction written all over it

Schiavone: Shamrock and Vader are ready to be unleashed having been cheated out of winning the ICW Heavyweight championship by Steve Corino and International Acclaim

[Pain is the name of the game and it looked like pain was inflicted on anyone who entered the ring. Kojima and Taiyo Kea are tough guys but Vader and Ken Shamrock know how to look after themselves. The match is full of hard hitting moves and some unpleasant looking submission moves.

Taiyo Kea go to the outside and exchange blows while Shamorck and Kojima fight in the ring. Shamrock gets a slight advantage on Kojima and goes to work. Vicious back suplex! Satoshi Kojima can barely stand. Belly To Belly! 1....2....3. Steve Corino comes running down the aisle with a chair, and gets into the ring! Corino hits Shamrock with a chair to the back! Ken Shamrock goes down to the canvas, hurt.

Corino stands tall with his ICW Heavyweight title looking down on Ken Shamrock as the rest of International Acclaim join him.]

Schiavone: International Acclaim are looking unstoppable, does Bret Hart have an answer to their dominance in ICW? Fans, I apologise, we are out of time join us next week for another edition of Adrenaline!

TV rating: 0.39

America One and ICW relationship reaps rewards

Hot of the debut episode of Adrenaline, America One and ICW have come to an agreement to move the show into a prime time slot. Adrenaline is to be moved from 10pm to 8pm to improve a high rating according to America One officials. ‘The debut show exceeded all of our expectations, it hit a 0.39 rating which is extremely high for late night programming. At prime time the show as a potential audience capable of reaching a 0.50 rating’ said one spokesperson.

ICW are said to be delighted with the agreement as it gives the fledgling promotion further exposure. ‘It bodes well for our future that we can already attract an audience capable of exciting TV executives. We look forward to our continuing relationship with America One and hope the future is a prosperous one for both organizations.’

The show itself carried on where Genesis left off with Bret Hart criticising Steve Corino, Satoshi Kojima and Taiyo Kea (International Acclaim) for their actions. A main event tag match between Kojima, Kea and Vader, Ken Shamrock was made before Bret Hart was viciously attacked. The team of Vader and Ken Shamrock were victorious but Corino attacked Shamrock following the match ensuring International Acclaim had the final say on the first edition of Adrenaline.

Adrenaline - 10/10/2003

Adrenaline

Saturday 10 October 2003

Live from Albany, New York

[Fireworks greet the viewers of America One and those in attendance as another episode of Adrenaline kicks off. We go straight to Tony Schiavone and Diamond Dallas Page as they introduce the show]

Schiavone: Welcome everyone to Adrenaline bigger and better than ever!

Page: More action, more entrainment, more DDP!

Schiavone: And what a show we have in store.

Briscoe Boys vs Kaz Hayashi and Super Crazy

Schiavone: What about this young tag team we’ve been hearing a lot about lately Diamond Dallas

Page: Well I don’t know about you Tony, you look like you’ve been round the block a few times, me on the other hand, I’m forever young and we’ll go far together I’m sure.

[Schiavone’s taken aback]

Schiavone: Well…let’s get it started

[Adrenaline starts off with tag team action as the Briscoe Boys go up against a team comprised of Kaz Hayashi and Super Crazy. Tag teams are few and far between at the moment in ICW but the future should bring expansion for ICW and one of the areas improved will be the tag team division.

Fast paced action all the way coupled with the youth of the Briscoe Boys and the experience of Kaz Hayashi and Super Crazy. The Briscoe Boys although young have a lot more tag team experience than their opponents which shines through with their double team manoeuvres and general team work. However Kaz Hayashi and Super Crazy are good enough individually to win any match and are proving just too strong for the Briscoe Boys.

Super Crazy stops a pin attempt by Mark Briscoe on Kaz Hayashi. Jay Briscoe comes to the aid his brother and bundles Super Crazy outside the ring. Super Crazy and Jay brawl on the outside. Mark Briscoe attempts a suplex that Kaz Hayashi fights out of. Kaz Driver!!! That shook the ring. 1....2....3!!]

Schiavone: Kaz Hayashi picks up the win but every time I see these young brothers they impress me more and more.

Page: Tough kids who love to wrestle and have that passion which is very important at this level.

[Bagpipes screech around the arena as Roddy Piper makes his way to the ring]

Schiavone: Roddy Piper makes his way to the ring to make an announcement for the absent Bret Hart.

[Roddy Piper smiles in the ring as he takes in the energy from the fans]

Piper: I gotta tell you all I get goosebumps every time I step into the ring after a reaction like that!

[Fans cheer]

Piper: I’m in temporary charge while Bret Hart takes some time out…thinking about you man. However, I’ve got business to attend to and it involves the hoodlums who think they are in charge around here – International Acclaim

[International Acclaim come to the Video-tron entrance. Steve Corino flanked by his Japanese assassins, Full Force.]

Corino: Piper…I better warn you before you go putting your dirty hands into our business to take notice of what happened last week to Bret Hart, Ken Shamrock and Vader. We will not discriminate, we will do the same to a gender bending skirt wearing freak like yourself if we have to.

Piper: Son, it’s evident that you need someone to slap you straight. I wish I could do it but the body isn’t willing anymore…

Corino: Don’t make any excuses Piper. I’ve got no problems with beating up and old man, just ask Bret Hart!

[Piper pauses to calm himself down]

Piper: As much as I would love to, I’m going to have to pass. However, I found someone that really wants to go toe to toe with you in this ring. Remember Genesis when you became ICW Heavyweight champion?
[Corino gets a bit nervous at the thought of not being in control]

Corino: Yeah…so what?!

Piper: Well you kinda made someone mad that to be brutally honest with you was a mistake. You see he wanted that title as much as you if not more and it left a sour taste in his mouth when you cheated him out of it at the semi-final stage. Tonight you will put your ICW Heavyweight title on the line against…

Corino: No, you can’t…

Piper: VADER!!

[Fans cheer as Steve Corino is beside himself]

Schiavone: Corino versus Vader for the ICW Heavyweight title tonight!!!

[International Acclaim move half way down the ramp towards the ring]

Corino: You know something Piper, I warned you. Maybe you didn’t deserve that warning because International Acclaim can do what we want when we want. I guarantee you that I will leave tonight still ICW Heavyweight champion. Let’s just say I have an insurance policy.

[Corino laughs away from the microphone]

Piper: Perhaps you are talking about the two men beside you. Well they could be a factor, however I called in a few favours and they are going to be occupied tonight in a match of their own against a mystery tag team.

[Corino’s smirk is wiped clean and he and the rest of the group walk the rest of the way down the ramp and enter the ring.]

Corino: What you talking about Piper? I demand you tell us now or we will beat it out of you!

[Piper refuses to say anything more. Corino gives the nod to Satoshi Kojima and Taiyo Kea. International Acclaim goes to move in to attack Piper]

AWWWWWW WHAT A RUSH!!!

[The fans cheer loudly. Corino can’t believe what he hears]

Schiavone: I can’t believe it, look who it is!

Page: The Road Warriors are in town!!

[Animal and Hawk run to the ring to help Piper out. Corino, Kojima and Kea hurriedly exit the ring not wanting to go up against the Road Warriors just yet.

The Road Warriors acknowledge Piper before turning to stare at International Acclaim. Corino points and mouths for them to watch their backs before the group head backstage]

Schiavone: What an announcement for tonight. First Corino has to defend his title against Vader and also Full Force are in tag team action against the debuting Road Warriors!

Page: It’s going to be an interesting night Tony, that’s for sure.

[Commercial]

Danny Doring vs Vampiro

Schiavone: Up now we have two men who are new to ICW. Danny Doring who awaits Vampiro who is walking to the ring as I speak with James Mitchell by his side.

Page: Now there’s a character you better watch out for – James Mitchell. He’s sick in the head but he motivates guys to do some incredible things

[One time ECW star Danny Doring is most notable for his tag team with Roadkill. He makes his debut tonight hoping to make the most of this opportunity to appear on television.

Vampiro is also making his debut. Everyone who watched WCW remembers him for turning on Sting, which led to a feud and a win in a Human torch match. He is well known in Mexico due to his work with CMLL. At the present time Vampiro is competing in NWA TNA and is helping James Mitchell get rid of Raven. It is with James Mitchell that Vampiro makes his way to the ring with. Both men are making their ICW debut.

The match itself is a decent display of both men skills with each showing their competency inside the ring. James Mitchell is playing the role of cheating heel manager at ringside, grabbing the foot of Danny Doring as he goes to bounce off the ropes. This distracts Danny Doring enough to allow Vampiro to hit the Nail in the coffin for the victory]

Schiavone: Unbelievable. Vampiro, with the assistance of James Mitchell on the outside, has picked up the victory.

Page: I told you that you have to keep an eye of James Mitchell and when your attention is not one hundred percent focused on your opponent then you will get punished. It looks like they aren’t finished yet though.

[Mitchell orders Vampiro to continue is attack on Doring. Vampiro continues to pound on a defenceless Danny Doring and gets hit with another Nail In The Coffin. James Mitchell is barking out orders and he tells Vampiro to get a chair. As Vamprio brings the chair into the ring, Tommy Dreamer comes running down the aisle, and gets into the ring! Vamprio and James Mitchell back off out of the ring from Tommy Dreamer who has his own chair. They both have a vacant stare on their face directed at Tommy Dreamer before they head backstage. Tommy Dreamer holds up his chair to the cheers from the fans.]

Schiavone: Tommy Dreamer with the save!!

Page: With help from his best friend, Mr. Chair.

[Dreamer helps Doring up and accompanies him backstage]

Schiavone: Well coming next is TAKA Michinoku up against Jeff Hardy. And Diamond Dallas, Jeff Hardy is looking impressive and is so far undefeated.

Page: Yeah, well, two matches isn’t much of a streak to speak of but I agree he is looking good out there. However, TAKA Michinoku is no push over and I think this match is going to be quite even.

[TAKA Michinoku makes his way to the ring]

Schiavone: This young man from Japan is often under appreciated but he has an impressive record, particularly in Japan. He has done quite well in America but I’m sure he wants more success.

[Jeff Hardy’s music hits and the fans react positively to it]

Schiavone: But Jeff Hardy has momentum and he has the full support of this crowd.

Page: The fans can’t win the match for you by pinning your opponent but as you saw in the last match with James Mitchell, outside support goes along way to motivating you to pick up the victory.

TAKA Michinoku vs Jeff Hardy

[A great match put on by both men here. Jeff Hardy is improving with each match and TAKA Michinoku consistently wrestles a flawless match. Each wrestle has periods of time in control of the match showing what they can do. The turning point comes when TAKA goes for the Michinoku driver but Jeff Hardy manages to slip out and hit the Twist of Fate.

Jeff Hardy has TAKA Michinoku down on the canvas and is ascending the corner. Off the top - Swanton Bomb, forget about it. 1....2...3!]

Schaivone: Jeff Hardy’s impressive start to his ICW career continues.

Page: His luck will run out sooner or later

[As Page is finishing his sentence we cut backstage where Christopher Daniels is walking. Juventud Guerrera comes from behind and attacks him with a chair.]

Schiavone: What the hell is Juventud doing??

[Guerrera walks off after hitting a few more chair shots, leaving Daniels down on the floor.]

Juventud: See what you get eh, punk?!

[We cut back to the scene of an astonished announce team]

Schaivone: Well I don’t know what to say…

Page: It’s been boiling over and we’ve seen Juventud snapping already but he’s just up the ante right there.

Schaivone: I’m sure Juventud will have to pay for what he just did but for now let’s go backstage with a man who has won already tonight, Vampiro, with James Mitchell.

[We go backstage to some kind of basement location]

Mitchell: Very cute, Dreamer. Coming to the aid of a fallen comrade like that must have took guts but it was very stupid although not surprising from a feeble small minded moron like yourself. You see there is no place on Earth for the weak like Danny Doring and he was about to be sacrificed as part of a crusade to rid ICW of the weak. However, you have our attention Dreamer that is a bad situation for yourself. You better be careful as you turn every corner in your life because we will be there. We are coming for you Tommy Dreamer.

[The camera focuses and zooms in on Vampiro who says nothing, while James Mitchell laughs]

[We go back to ringside where Chris Candido is standing in the ring. Making his debut, Candido has popped up everywhere in the wrestling world in the last ten years plus whether it be ECW, WWF or WCW and most recently XPW. Candido has not been able to break through into the main event scene and has been used mostly in successful tag teams and held tag team championships. He did, however, win the NWA Heavyweight title tournament back in 1994 which was held after Shane Douglas famously refused the belt.]

Schaivone: Next up we have Chris Candido against…

[Ken Shamrock’s music begins and the crowd react to a big ovation]

Schaivone: …well here he is – Ken Shamrock!

Page: It’s not a time I’d like to come up against Ken Shamrock, if ever! This guy must be incensed after he was screwed out of the title and attacked after his match last week

Chris Candido vs Ken Shamrock

Chris Candido tries to get an advantage on Ken Shamrock by attacking before the bell. It doesn’t take long for Shamrock to compose himself and get himself into the match. Chris Candido goes to throw him against the ropes but Shamrock reverses and hits the returning Candido with a vicious clothesline. From there on in Shamrock goes to work on Candido and looks like he is destroying him. Shamrock hits a belly to belly suplex on Candido who has nothing left to kick out of the pin.

Schaivone: Woah! Ken Shamrock! He is on fire here tonight!

Page: Impressive, Schiavone, pure class. He’s ready for International Acclaim, I think.

[We go backstage to see the Road Warriors about to be interviewed]

Interviewer: Road Warriors, you have been brought here tonight by Roddy Piper to keep Full Force busy here tonight to try and stop International Acclaim’s dominance here in ICW.

Hawk: Dominance is something Animal and me know a lot about. We have dominated tag team wrestling for the last two decades. For some new guys to come along and try and claim they are the best of the best makes the two of us sit up and puke.

Animal: You see Full Force this is nothing new, every year we have wrestled we have had punks like you come up and try to prove they are the best of the best. You can’t prove you’re the best until you beat the best. It looks like we will have to break your bones here tonight to prove what it is to be the best in the business, tell ‘em Hawk

Hawk: AWWWWW WHAT A RUSH!

[We go back ringside where Full Force’s Japanese style music has begun.]

Schiavone: The Road Warriros intense as ever there

Page: Yeah but they better not be under-estimating a good tag team here – Full Force.

AWWWWW WHAT A RUSH!

Schaivone: Here come the Road Warriors!

[As both teams fill the ring, you can cut the tension with a knife. The Road Warriors have a reputation of being one of the best tag teams in history to keep in tact whilst Full Force are on the up and have the chance to prove themselves against legends]

Full Force vs Road Warriors

A showcase of power wrestling mixed with the added value of tag team wrestling. Full Force show good teamwork despite this only being their second match together. The Road Warriors teamwork is impeccable through an understanding, which is only gained through years of in-ring experiences shared together.

Both teams get two near falls. The first near fall comes for Full Force when Satoshi Kojima hits Hawk with a devastating Lariat. The victory snatched from Full Force as Animal makes the save, breaking the pin. Hawk spends a lot of time isolated from Animal. However as all looks lost he manages to clothesline Taiyo Kea and then makes the tag to Animal. Animal cleans house knocking both members of Full Force down before throwing Satoshi Kojima over the top rope. Taiyo Kea comes charging at Animal but Animal turns Kea’s momentum into a powerslam. It looks good for the victory before Kojima just makes it back into the ring for the save.

Full Force are now in control over both Road Warriors, they beat Animal down. Hawk tries to get back to help Animal but he goes down hard to a Koji-cutter from Satoshi Kojima. Animal is left in the ring by himself. Full Force then execute a double powerbomb manoeuvre and pick up the win.

Full Force are ecstatic following their win and hug each other. Road Warriors don't look like they're finished by any means...and they rush forward to attack Full Force, and send them to the outside. Threats are exchanged as the chaos ends.

[Steve Corino is backstage]

Corino: See Piper, you’re plan has failed. Full Force picked up the victory with the fantastic Rising Sun for International Acclaim. It’s typical of you that you would pick a team who attack after the match. What kind of sportsmanship is that? Now we go to phase two where you’ve given Vader a shot at my Heavyweight title because I beat him fair and square at Genesis. Sour grapes! Vader I thought you were a bigger man than to go crying to ICW officials. You, Vader, will feel the full wrath of International Acclaim tonight. The gGift from God is going to take you to the Oldschool – I’ll see you out there.

[We go ringside]

Schiavone: Corino as confident as ever in his own cocky way but he’s up against a behemoth here tonight

Page: That’s right Schiavone. Corino’s beat him once before but I think Vader might be a bit more prepared for the King of Oldschool’s tactics tonight. Plus, Vader has a score to settle with Steve Corino here tonight.

IT’S VADER TIME!

[Vader’s music starts as he makes his way to the ring, ready to get his hands on Steve Corino once again.]

ICW Heavyweight Title Match
Vader vs Steve Corino

[Steve Corino’s music starts to a load of jeers from the crowd. Corino takes it all in his stride knowing that he has to fully concentrate on Vader tonight.]

Page: The champ is in the house but can Vader overthrow him here tonight on Adrenaline?

Schiavone: I hope so. I’d love it if Vader beat Steve Corino here tonight. The guy needs taking down a peg or two. He walks around this place like he owns it.

[Not too unlike the last match they fought at Genesis, Vader takes control early on. Corino tries to use his speed but more often than not he is overwhelmed by Vader’s sheer size and strength.

Corino can not take advantage of the few opportunities that Vader affords him and Vader looks ready to put Corino away. Vader lifts up Corino in the Vader bomb position…]

Schiavone: Vader has him where he wants him, this is for the title!

Page: There’s no kicking out of this if he hits it!

[Corino however fights out of it and then rolls up Vader for the pin. The referee starts couting, Corino pulls on the tights for more leverage and picks up the three count. Full Force start to walk down to the ring to help Corino celebrate.]

Schiavone: No…not again! Vader is screwed once more!

Page: He had him but didn’t quite get the job done. He will be irate

[Vader goes towards Corino to attack him for cheating him out of the win again. He is stopped by Full Force however. They take him to the outside where they continue to brawl with him. Corino remains in the ring celebrating his win and showing off the title that he has successfully defended.]

Schiavone: To add insult to injury, Vader is being beat up by Full Force and look at Corino smirking away to himself

[Ken Shamrock’s music sounds]

Schiavone: KEN SHAMROCK!

Page: Corino is by himself.

[Shamrock sprints to the ring, Corino hesitates getting out of the ring. That moment is all Ken Shamrock needs. He stops Corino from leaving and begins to beat away on Corino before hitting the belly to belly suplex on him. Full Force realise what is happening and try to get back in the ring for the save. It’s too late however as Shamrock leaves the ring happy with what he has done avenging what Corino inflicted on him last week.]

Schiavone: Shamrock gets revenge and has dished out what Steve Corino deserves! Fans, I apologise, we are out of time. Join us next week for another edition of Adrenaline!]

The following was posted on the ICW website:

‘ICW is proud to announce the following signings who will be eligible to compete with immediate effect:

Balls Mahoney, CW Anderson, EZ Money, Harry Smith, Tony Mamaluke, Xavier

Tommy Dreamer was a surprise debut on Adrenaline and it was his first appearance since his release from WWE. It was said that Dreamer was happy to be able to perform in a wrestling ring again.

The real reason Bret Hart was not at Adrenaline in Albany was because his father, Stu Hart, was taken critically ill last week.

Adrenaline 17/10/2003

Adrenaline

Saturday 17 October 2003

Live from Cleveland, Ohio

[A video plays to open Adrenaline in memory of Stu Hart. 3 May 1915 – 16 October 2003. Bret Hart says a few words about his father on the video. He also mentions that he will be back in ICW soon but for the time being Piper is in charge.]

[We go to the Adrenaline ring where The Briscoe Boys are waiting for the opening match of the evening.]

Schiavone: Fans, welcome to another edition of Adrenaline. Tony Schiavone alongside Diamond Dallas Page as ever

[Jody Fleisch and Kaz Hayashi make their way to the ring as the commentary team continue]

Page: Pumped up and ready for another show Tony, tonight is going to go off with a bang!

Schiavone: Indeed it is and up first it is tag team action with the impressive young team of the Briscoe Boys in action against Jody Fleisch and Kaz Hayashi.

Briscoe Boys vs Jody Fleisch and Kaz Hayashi

[Kaz Hayashi is facing the Briscoe Boys for the second week running but this time with a different partner. Last week the Briscoe Boys were defeated and Kaz looks confident of another victory this week over the young team.]

[The Briscoe Boys however are no pushovers and learn from each match they compete in. This is evident in the way that they have numerous of Kaz Hayashi moves scouted leading to blocks or reversal. Kaz is visibly frustrated about this.]

[Jody Fleisch has more success against the Briscoe Boys. The British wrestler is an amazing athlete who appears to defy gravity at time. He is accused in many quarters of being a spot monkey. In this match however it looks like he is trying to add more to his matches and that can only improve with time.]

[Kaz’s frustrations get the better of him and he enters the ring to take down Jay Briscoe from behind. Mark Briscoe enters the ring to make the save and throws Kaz Hayashi over the top rope. The confusion distracts Jody Fleisch and allows The Briscoe Boys to hit a Back Suplex Neckbreaker combination for the win]
[It's over and Kaz comes back in the ring to ask Fleisch what happened. They are arguing about that defeat. Hayashi jumps The Briscoes from behind who were busy celebrating the win. Fleisch is not joining in. Kaz doesn’t seem to be relenting and Jody tries to intervene, Kaz turns around and goes for Fleisch. Fleisch unloads on Kaz sending him to the outside. Kaz leaves irate.]

Page: One for the record books I think, that tag team didn’t last long.

Schiavone: Kaz’s attitude let him down but Jody Fleisch on the other hand showed the decent guy that he is.

[All four men have left for backstage and Super Crazy’s theme music starts]

Schiavone: Up next however is Super Crazy against Jeff Hardy, which is a return from the first episode of Adrenaline.

Page: Super Crazy obviously thinks he can make up for the loss and he’s been given the chance to do that.

Super Crazy vs Jeff Hardy

[Another great display by both men. Super Crazy comes close to picking up the win but ultimately Jeff Hardy proves to have too much as he hits the Swanton Bomb for the win]

[As Jeff Hardy celebrates TAKA Michinoku comes running down the aisle with and enters the ring behind Hardy. TAKA spins Jeff around and hits the Michinoku driver. He taunts Jeff Hardy and then leaves the ring]

Schiavone: TAKA Michinoku leaves Jeff Hardy down and out. What’s wrong with him?!

Page: I guess he hasn’t got over Jeff Hardy beating him last week, I guess it’s better to let out his disappointment rather than keeping it bottled up inside.

[We come back from a commercial to the sound of International Acclaim’s music on the sound system.]

Schiavone: Well here they are, these men have been running riot on ICW since day one, however Ken Shamrock got a little bit of personal revenge last week.

Page: I bet they aint too happy ‘bout that though Schiavone. These guys tend not to forget when people put one over on them.

[International Acclaim come to the ring and demand that Piper ‘the new man in charge’ meet them there. Piper comes down and says that he is a busy man and asks what they want. Corino says that for starters that he can scratch the tag team match scheduled for tonight between International Acclaim and Shamrock and the Road Warriors. Piper says that he does not give a damn what Corino says and tells him to get lost. Corino says that Piper has a nerve and that he shouldn’t take that tone when he is outnumbered and has no backup. Piper says that he has all the back up he needs. Shamrock comes running to the ring with a chair. International Acclaim quickly exit the ring. Corino mouths off at Shamrock and Piper as he leaves. Piper says that he will personally aid Ken Shamrock in his fight against International Acclaim. Corino mouths off at Shamrock and Piper as he and the rest of the group leave.]

Schiavone: Piper and Shamrock are on the same page

Page: You talking to me?

Chris Candido vs Tommy Dreamer

[This is Tommy Dreamer’s first ICW match. He made a mark in his debut last week by saving Danny Doring in a post match beatdown at the hands of Vamprio.]

[Candido and Dreamer put on a solid match. Candido is ultimately there to make Dreamer look good on his debut which a man of Candido’s class can do effectively. Tommy Dreamer hits the Dreamer Driver.

Page: That should be it!

[Vampiro slides into the ring out of nowhere! Dreamer takes a stiff punch to the face and falls to the canvas.]

Schiavone: Vampiro out of nowhere!

[The referee calls for the DQ as Vampiro continues to attack Dreamer under the instruction of James Mitchell. Vampiro isn't finished with his attack yet! Tommy Dreamer stands up...and walks into a boot to the gut from Vampiro. Nail In The Coffin!!! Tommy Dreamer has been put down on the canvas!]

Schiavone: Vampiro with a vicious and uncalled for attack.

Page: James Mitchell told Dreamer to watch his back, Dreamer let his guard down and the results of that is in the ring for everyone to see right now.

[ICW officials run to the ring to break up the scene. They clear up the mess and order is restored.]

[We come back from the commercial to find CW Anderson already in the ring being introduced.]

Schiavone: CW Anderson making his debut tonight, going up against Vader.

IT’S VADER TIME!

Page: Bit unlucky for the new guys to be going up against Vader. A real baptism of fire right here.

CW Anderson vs. Vader

[CW Anderson is making his debut in ICW. Well travelled but mostly known for his stint with ECW. He has been touring Japan most recently.]

[Vader is extremely focused having been cheated out of winning the ICW Heavyweight title twice by Steve Corino and being set upon after the last match following his defeat. CW Anderson doesn’t stand much of a chance against an extremely determined Vader who shows his aggressive edge. It’s not long before Vader hits the Vader Bomb for the win.]

Schiavone: An impressive showing from Vader.

Page: We know what he can do in the ring but he just keeps falling short of winning the title…

Schaivone: …through Steve Corino’s constant cheating!

[Both competitors return backstage and we are ready for the next contest.]

Schiavone: Well fans we are pleased to debut a very talented young man here tonight on Adrenaline…

[Paul London makes his way to the ring.]

Schiavone: …and here he is. We’ve heard a lot of good things about this young man.

Page: I’ve seen what he can do in the ring Schiavone and the kid is impressive.

[Juventud Gurerra is his opponent who heads for the ring]

Schiavone: But we’ve seen something from Juventud Guerrera lately which I , for one do not like. It’s a win at all costs type of attitude.

Page: Well you don’t have to like it Schiavone but if it gets the job done and works for Juventud then he should keep it up. There’s no prizes in wrestling for being ‘nice’.

Paul London vs. Juventud Guerrera

[Paul London is making his ICW debut having been signed immediately after his WWE release. Paul London has a following among many wrestling fans mainly for his time served in Ring of Honor.]

[A stellar match is put on by both men, two cruiserweights at their best. An even match that looks to be perfectly balanced. London hits a legsweep DDT that appears to knock Juventud out cold. Instead of going for the pin, however, London climbs the top turnbuckle. He goes for the London Calling but Juventud moves out of the way. A dazed London struggles to get to his feet before being hit with the Juvi Driver.]

Schiavone: Juventud picks up the win despite an outstanding effort from Paul London

[Christopher Daniels comes running down the aisle, and gets into the ring!]

Page: Woah here’s Christopher Daniels!

[Christopher Daniels spins Juvi around. Christopher Daniels hits the Last Rites! Juvi Guerrera has been left down on the canvas.]

Schiavone: A little bit of payback on Juventud from Daniels there

Page: Man these guys have an intense hatred for each other.

[We go backstage where International Acclaim are standing by. Corino as ever flanked by Satoshi Kojima and Taiyo Kea.]

Corino: Another night of Adrenaline, another night of International Acclaim to shine. Unfortunately you have clowns like Piper with a vendetta against the best set of wrestlers in the world and then you have a guy like Ken Shamrock who can’t let the past be. Shamrock, you have tried and failed to take this championship as your own. Give up the ghost pal because the pursuit of my title is wasted time. It’s fitting that these two men have joined together. That’s ok, it’s probably better that the two biggest losers in ICW stick together. At least we know that all the losers are in one place at any give time. You guys should probably get hats with ‘idiots’ written on them. Tonight Ken Shamrock teams up with the Road Warriors. When they started out the only thing on the road was horses and carriages. We’ll try and take it easy on you out there. See you all in the ring.

[We come back from another commercial to the sound of International Acclaim as they make their way down for their match]

Schiavone: Well fans, it’s time for our main event and what a match in store here tonight.

Page: International Acclaim have some tough opponents here tonight. Ken Shamrock is dangerous at the best of times never mind when he is focused on getting even with someone and well, the Road Warriors, you don’t need me to tell you how tough those guys are.

[The Road Warriors make their way to the ring closely followed by Ken Shamrock]

International Acclaim vs Ken Shamrock & The Road Warriors

[A great six man tag team to see out Adrenaline for this week. Fantastic displays from each individual participating. The fans are up for the match and are producing a level of noise of deafening proportions. Highlight of the match is when Steve Corino, who spends the whole match shying away from Ken Shamrock, finally gets cornered. Ken Shamrock goes to work on Corino and would have destroyed him had it not been for Kojima and Kea interrupting.]

[As the match descends into chaos, the Road Warriors take over. Having neutralised Taiyo Kea for the time being, Animal gets Satoshi Kojima on his shoulders as Hawk climbs the turnbuckle. The Road Warriors hit the doomsday device and Hawk makes the cover for the win. Shamrock joins the Road Warriors in having their hands raised for the victory.]

[International Acclaim are incensed and after they attack and devastate Shamrock and the Road Warriors. Exposed and being viciously attacked, Vader comes to the ring to help out and starts to go to work on the members of International Acclaim. Suddenly Masato Tanaka appears from nowhere and levels Vader. Vader joins Ken Shamrock and the Road Warriors on the canvas as International Acclaim and Masato Tanaka celebrate.]

Schiavone: Damnit! International Acclaim put one over on the rest of ICW once again!

Page: Maybe they are just smarter and the other guys should just quit.

Schiavone: Unlikely, I don’t think we’ll ever see these guys quit! Fans, that’s all we have time for as International Acclaim look on having lost the match the overall battle looks to be in their favour.

[End]

ICW Latest News

The following has been posted on the ICW website:

As shown on the last episode of Adrenaline, Bret Hart is taking compassionate leave from ICW. Although no date for his return has been confirmed, he is not expected to be at the TV tapings 24/10.

ICW are set to be exploring many possibilities of a major signing to make the wrestling world sit up and take notice. It is being noted that the company is still not really being taken seriously. Considering it has only had it’s doors open a few months this is hardly surprising but ICW officials are keen on sending shockwaves within the wrestling world.

Having introduced a lot of wrestlers over the past few weeks, ICW are keen to start developing storylines. The International Acclaim against the more popular wrestlers on the roster has been underway since the first episode of Adrenaline. The Christopher Daniels and Juventud Guerrera programme continues which started at Genesis. Elsewhere, Tommy Dreamer and Vampiro (with James Mitchell) is to be continued while we saw the start of what looks to be a Jeff Hardy/TAKA Michinoku and Jody Fleisch/Kaz Hayashi feuds on the last Adrenaline episode. The creative influences within ICW are keen to get over the lesser-known but incredibly talented workers on the roster.

Expect Masato Tanaka to make further appearances with ICW following his shock debut this past week on Adrenaline.
