When he was on his way home he witnessed a shocking view as the world suddenly froze: people were engulfed by blue flames and a monster resembling a large doll swallowed them. Just as the monster prepared to consume Yuuji, a sword-wielding girl in black attire with flaming red eyes and hair that burns like embers saved him from the monster. The girl called herself a "Flame Haze" who hunts the "Guze no Tomogara", creatures from another world. As Yuuji noticed a blue flame in his chest, she called him a "Torch", a temporary replacement, saying that the "real" Yuuji's existence had already ended. Unfazed, Yuuji befriended the strange girl, named her "Shana", and joined her fight against Tomogara and other Flame Hazes. A friend of mine gave me volume 1 of this series as an early Birthday present today and it surprised me as I didn't know this series was licensed. A must-watch for fans of action and fantasy with high school aspects thrown in the mix. Aside from the superb animation and beautiful artwork, the soundtrack for this anime is amazing, especially the OP. Not to mention that the dub is pretty good. Anyone else seen this? 	I reccomend that you watch it as soon as possible, its great. I was convinced that the ending would be tragic but it was alright in the end

	I've seen the first three episodes (@ Deadwing's recommendation) and I must say I'm impressed. It's pretty good so far, but judging by what I know it does seem like it will have a sad ending. Hopefully "alright" means "not depressing" because I just finished Saikano and that was sad enough to make me want to hide in a cave and cry. 	Heh, don't worry. There's a few scenes that are pretty emotional, but nothing that would make you want to hide in a cave and cry. -------------------

	Maybe, but I didn't find it really emotionally moving. Maybe animes like Shuffle do a better job of pulling the heart strings so it has perhaps become harder to move me emotionally. ------------------- Fire Emblem Awakening - You Want It.

	It was good I thought, although the plot that the two guys are seen as gay in Ogata's eyes is a bit far-fetched.

	She was just jealous so I think she would let those kind of thoughts slip in to her head to make her jealousy seem to carry more weight. I got the DVD's from my friend (I know waaay to many Japanese and Korean people) so I'm just jumping along right now. I really liked the Chibi episodes a lot, they were really quite funny, especially because the creators make fun of themselves a bit. ------------------- Gogogogo

	The second season has been announced for a fall 2007 release. I'm definitely looking forward to it; I could definitely tell one was coming based on the ending to the first season. ------------------- Type-MOON

	Does anyone actually read the books behind this series? I'd like to have some idea as to what the premise of Season 2 is. I'm hoping it's involving the Silver flame and possibly more of Yuji fighting. It sounds like they're not going to time skip at all but a month or so would be nice, just so Yuji has some combat proficiency. quote Spoilerish Stuff He lifted that German sounding sword (Blutsogen?) and used it pretty easily in the end of the first season and that sword seems to be perfect for him. It's defensive and doesn't require any power behind it to do damage. All he seems to do right now is explode his power, it'd be nice to see him shoot too. ------------------- I C'Z U
