I knew I was forgetting something.

So, all members. In light of recent activity, I think now is an ideal time for a revival. Since I'd like to keep the GD for anime discussion, I'd like to invite people here to come up with plans and suggestions. I'd like a lot of help from all of you to generate some activity. I'd be happy to allow a couple of forum games if we can get them going and we have some fun anime-related ideas (lol Higurashi-style punishment games for losers).

If you have ideas, want permission to start a thread, or want me to start something, please discuss here. Also, if you're feeling particularly dedicated, become a shameless advertiser like me. *points at sig*

Eternal, we could do that, but just broaden the clue standard. Say, a line of dialogue or just a screen shot of scenery. I think that'd be pretty cool, and of course if you've got the resources you can still do an audio clip.

Another I thought would be nice is a caption contest. Each week we could post a new pic, and the winning pic with the caption becomes the subheader of the thread.

Dammit, I want one that involves embarrassing punishments for the loser. Something like forcing them to have stupid signatures or subtitles.

So a Try this Anime thread, for maybe a short ova and get everyone to try it?

First, I think you should make a thread just for forum improvement instead of using the feedback thread. I knew what was going on, but I would guess there are quite a few members who don't even really look at the forum feedback so if you make something that stands out more people will check it out.

Second, I know I mentioned this to you, but I think we should encourage members to at least write one post for every episode they watch. Even if it is some old show and it hasn't been discussed in a while, a little post here and there will truly start sparking activity.

For example, I started that thread for No. 6 and I would be shocked if only Mastix and I have seen an episode of it. Add something to the discussion if you have seen an episode. If you like it talk about the series, if you are dropping it explain why it put you off so much.

I don't know how to attract new members to the forum because I feel like that is something everyone struggles with. I will say I know there are plenty of members out there who like anime and we have a big pool of people that would enjoy posting here. We just need to figure out how to get them.

The only suggestion/idea I could come up with was an Interview thread. We've started to get to know each other a lot better now thanks to the GD's and this could be a step further in that direction. I've been both an Interviewer and Interviewee in Loungin' and Dragonball respectively and found it to be pretty enjoyable.

I think Loungin' does it by voting. Ask in the GD and see who's the most popular and then ask.
