The first volume has been released in English by VIZ Media, though now there're already 7 volumes in Japan. It's the story of exorcists set in Gothic-Fiction theme. It's currently published weekly in Shonen Jump in Japan. It is not an anime, but IMO I think it will be an anime soon, only a matter of time. quote VIZ Media Set in a fictional 19th century England, D.Gray-man is the story of Allen Walker, a 15-year-old boy who roams the Earth in search of Innocence. Washed away to unknown parts of the world after The Great Flood, Innocence is the mysterious substance used to create weapons that obliterate demons known as akuma. I like this series mainly because of the Gothic costumes and characters design XD. The art style is great, too. My favorite characters are Miranda and Rabi. (By the way, I've finish the 4th volume.) 	I made a thread of this a while ago and no one answered. Its not particularly gothic, its just got a lot of Demons (Or Akuma. Allen is funny though. -------------------

	Just going to bump this up since it's more about the manga than the anime :3 I thought the manga was kinda slow. Having watched 51 episodes of the anime, I think they might have done it a little better than the manga. It took me about 4 volumes to really get into this; I think if they reorganized the chapters/events a little bit or expanded on some things then it would have been a lot more interesting. I don't feel as though character development has really been achieved for much of the cast yet, and I just finished volume 7, which I think is far enough to really see a lot of the main characters. That said, now that I'm in volume 7 I think it's a lot better, way more interesting and I'm super invested in it now. ------------------- This is Jeffrey the Dragon. He likes anime.

	I recently got the first manga from my gf, since she and I are trying to collect enough manga to start up a manga club at her school, and I find it interesting overall. I watched the first few episode to compare it to the first few chapters of the manga, and I felt that the manga beat the anime in terms of detail and fluidity. I'll admit, the anime's sub and dub are good on both sides of the coin, and the battles are interesting, but I personally thought they talked too much, unlike the manga.

	kisshu24 I thought it was sort of the opposite. I mean, in the manga it starts off with Allen doing two battles on the street (as opposed to with the Order). It sort of set up the feeling of... "Okay, this manga is going to be about a dude who goes around battling these creatures that he just happens to see on the street..." and it felt sort of dragging. Then after that he goes on his first Order mission, and at that point the mood sort of changed to "Oh, it's a manga about a dude who works for something larger and goes on organized missions with other awesome characters?" And really the series is more about the latter (even though he does also see a lot of unrelated Akuma on his way), but I think the anime set the tone a lot sooner. Plus, with that second arc that the manga presented (the one with John?), they revealed some background information about Allen that I think was more effective placed later on. I wasn't as invested in Allen in the beginning so the personal information really didn't 'drive home' as much as it should have, so I think it was better left for later on when the audience would get the significance a little more. The manga does rush a lot, though, I think. They skipped a lot of things that the anime didn't (or, rather, the anime expanded on things that weren't in the manga) and I think I like it more just for giving more screen time to other characters. ------------------- This is Jeffrey the Dragon.
