Yeah, that was pretty much what I was getting at, that them leaving the ending up to our imaginations was basically them saying, "figure it out for yourself, 'cause we ain't handing you the answers on a silver platter".

Now, what did everyone think of the alien hunts?
The first thing I noticed right off the bat was that they weren't initially hostile, and only started attacking to defend themselves.

The green onion dad only started tearing people apart when his son was killed, and even looked like he was trying to reason with Kato at one point, probably saying something like, "why did you kill my son? what the hell did we do to you?"
The suzuki aliens didn't even bother with anyone until their little bird buddies got squashed, or when they themselves started being attacked.
The statue dudes didn't even move until the gate was smashed in and weapons were being pointed in their direction, and again, through the voice of that one guy, asked "what did we ever do to you? now I'm the only one left".

This to me says a lot about human prejudice, and how lack of understanding can only seek to cause needless conflict.
If someone looks different, acts different, or thinks differently, they're often percieved by less tolerant people to be "freaks" or as they're portrayed in the show, "aliens".
Now, it is an unfortunate truth that if someone can't come to terms with their fear over the differences of others, or are told by someone else that people who are different are bad and don't bother doing any research to try and understand these other people, they'll more often than not resort to hatred and violence, to action without thought.

Not to get into a political discussion, but the series does just that towards the end when Kurono's fighting the blue-haired bum-smasher... it's like how a good deal of the country thinks that all Muslims are bad, just because they don't understand the culture or just because they president tells them so, and don't bother to ask "why?", and forget that there are going to be green onions or suzuki aliens caught in the middle who just want to live their own lives and not bother anyone, but they can't, because the powers that be want to play their little war games.

That's my two cents, anyway.

You should continue with the manga. The story actually gets really awesome. People start actually winning and there are a lot of awesome characters, such as Daizemon Kaze.

Meh, the middle of the anime was weird...especially with the robot bird things

At the part, I was about to quit the anime, cuz it was really weird and boring, but I guess I just kept going.

Finally got to see ep. 1 a few minutes ago. Man I just cringed when I saw the head flying with the blood spilling What a bad ending for those two kids, huh? Also, what's up with the hearing-what-ppl-think thing? It's a bit annoying.

all of the people from osaka are batshit insane. and the 100 pointer really freaked me out in it's giant woman phase.


the last arc of the anime ruined it for me, but the manga is still going strong. (And awesome.)

What is shown in the anime is really just a third of the story that has been released in the manga. And the manga is still going, so by the end the anime will cover even less than that.

Osaka Gantz team was still *bleep*ing awesome though. Haven't been keeping up with it recently, but the last chapter I read had one of the Osaka members nailing some women during a mission, and as he is *bleep*ing her, she gets her body chopped in half.

Vampire's are *bleep*ing awesome though.

Bah, I have had this series (at least the first season, if there is more than one) on DVD, for OVER A YEAR, and STILL haven't finished it? In fact, it could be over 2 years >_>

I really should finish it off...It was good, what I saw of it...
