I usually don't mind the outcomes of Fairy Tail fights but that was just truly retarded. I don't even know how Mashima thought that was a good idea. A really good arc spoiled by a horrible final fight. Granted the fight isn't over yet, but I doubt it's going to get much better.
If that punch knocks out Hades I will hit myself in nuts. I'm hoping the explosion was caused from whatever Happy and Charlie are up to destroying. I agree with Darknet that would be really badass. I hope Hades isn't defeated here. Fairy Tail needs more villian that last past one arc. Overall disapointed in the chapter, unless Natsu gets a boost from Zeref he just needs to stay down.
Actually an enjoyable end to the fight. I didn't think Mashima could save this fight, but he did somewhat. Really enjoyed Happy and Charle doing something. Though I hope to God Ultear does not join Fairy Tail. Next chapter better be Zeref heavy.
I was thinking the same thing, not complaining though. Didn't really like the chapter, I wish Zeref would've done that earlier.
Spoiler:Light Spoiler
And I'm upset that Ultear didn't die, it was a great moment for her, but Mashima just can not take a life. Looks like Fairy Tail is going to get two more members, though I hope not.
Mashima just hated Makarov in this arc. Did the chapter ever say why Acnologia (butchered the name) went to destroy the island and I just missed it? I still wished Fairy Tail stayed and fought it, 3 Dragon Slayers, Gildartz, Erza and the Master and they didn't even try to fight it? Did not like.
I don't really know what else to say to that chapter besides, holy shit.
Spoiler:thoughts
I'm thinking everyone was killed and that boy (forget his name) is going to try to find a way to all bring them back. I mean I can't think of any other explanation if 7 years passed without a trace of any survivors.
I like that they seem to be rushing this plotline, seeing Fairy Tail's minor characters all distraught and sad isn't very entertaining. Still a solid chapter, I'm really hooked now.
I am disapointed, just like everyone else. I mean I did want to see the other characters soon but not this soon. I wanted everyone to have cool new 7 year later looks =(. I was hoping for more build up before the old FT members kicked the crap out of Twilight Ogre. And I wish Romeo would've gotten more focus, I really don't care about him or his feelings. But eh that's just Fairy Tail, it has it's ups and downs but it's still good.
And just a thought, if they've been frozen for 7 years then there should be a lot of people that have grown stronger than them.
Enjoyed that chapter, didn't even think about the money issue. Still curious to see the direction that this arc is going to take. And I'm just assuming that Makarov will be an adviser to Maccao.
Disappointed that this chapter didn't answer anything about the number 1 guild or Ultear/Meldy. Kind of a surprising chapter, didn't think it'd be all about Lucy and her relationship with her dad. Though it didn't really advance anything I didn't mind it. I hope we will get something soon about Ivan and Gajeel, if that's still going to continue.
Absolutely loved that chapter. I hope Sabertooth is the enemy of this arc. And I hope those are legit dragon slayers and not lacrima dragon slayers. Though I absolutely hate those two new character's design. Makarov naming Guildarts the successor wasn't very surprising though I'm curious when Makarov expects Maccao to step down.
I hope they eventually explain how Natsu can still use the electric powers. And I'm also thinking the thing Romeo mentioned is a tournament, which would be mad cool. Overall another solid chapter, Mashima's been on a roll with good chapters.
Yay for early chapter. I don't like the fact only the Tenrou team is training, the minor characters are just going to become dead weight again. Also Makarov doesn't seem to be trying to get stronger either, I thought he would so he could continue to protect Fairy Tail.
Besides those complaints I loved the chapter, great character interactions and humor. It's nice to see Lucy using her spirits outside of battles. I wonder how many training chapters there will be.
Reread it trying to find a sneak peek of the last zodiac spirit Pisces somewhere in the background but I guess Mashima didn't want to give us that lovely easter egg.
That was probably the best chapter this arc. The jokes were the best, especially Happy at the end. Too many panels were spent on that kiss though. I still think we will have Jellal x Erza down the road. I don't like that Jet and Droy just walked out without getting a power-up. Why are they content with being weak and useless? They really care about Levy but they've never been strong enough to protect her and then with the chance to finally get stronger, they just walk away. Don't like it.
Really? I liked the chapter. I thought it was pretty cool. I just wish it would've been a two chapter event. It felt too rushed, could've had some cool backgrounds with the whole thing. I like Elfman's new look. And if team's can just replace members does this mean he'll be on Team FT for the rest of the tournament? Though if teams really can just replace members he'll probably get replaced by Gajeel or Luxus when they show up.
And since I didn't comment about last chapter. I hope Natsu doesn't take on both dragonslayers. He'll definetely be fighting Rogue, though I have the feeling he'll fight both, sadly.
I was thinking the same thing, I'm thinking Mashima has been playing some Assassin's Creed lately. Still I like the idea and I'm excited to see how it plays out. Grey will get his act together but I still think he'll only get like 5th place. Juvia is the weak link on B Team and I think she is going to get destroyed in this game just because she'll keep on attacking Grey clones.
Really enjoyed that chapter, I like having these longer chapters. It's nice to see Grey really pissed, that's the kind of anger he should've showed on Tenrou. And I'm really excited for this next battle, can't wait to see how Lucy's power up affected her.
I really wish this arc would just be a tournament. I don't like this whole secret magic force and another arc that's going to be around Zeref looks like.
But I did enjoy the fight, totally predicted that Lucy would use two spirits together. Still hoping that she ends up defeating Corona with a Leo/Capricorn duo. Lucy has been really smart this fight, which is nice to see.
That ending still bugs me. The chapter was really amazing and Lucy is now a complete and total badass. But such a powerful spell cancelled so easily, without any evidence, is kind of, eh. But it seems the next chapter is going to be about that guy, so maybe we will learn the secret to his trick.
Does Natsu just have all of his senses extended? First it was super smell, now super hearing. Still it was badass and I loved all of the Lucy and Natsu moments in this chapter. I really do hate Raven Tail now though.
And I wonder if we are going to actually see the next 3 fights or just get like one frame of each and then told the winners.
Personally I didn't mind the ending. Glad to see Ultear and Meldy get some panels. Day 2 though I'm expecting Erza and Luxus/Mirajane to run rampant and rack up some points.
Wow, not what I was expecting. A bit disappointed to be honest. The swimsuit contest/battle was pretty dumb. I hope we actually get a decent fight between Blue Pegasus and Sabertooth next week.
That is all of the Zodiacs, so we are done with those unless Mashima is going to make up his own Zodiacs. Though there will be a new type of powerful summoning keys introduced in an arc or two.
I was curious if Mashima was going to use Ophicious (I can never spell it right) or not and I'm glad he did.
I actually really enjoyed that chapter. I had the feeling that Sabertooth was going to lose that battle. Though I wished the Mermaid Heel lass would've actually used magic, she just used a sword style unless their was magic focused in that attack. Either way it was badass. I'm not sure if the Sabertooth girl is going to die but I am quite sure she is going to be taken out of the competition. Because when Fairy Tail first learned about Sabertooth it was said there were 5 members that were recruited into Sabertooth that suddenly shot up their power. But this celestial mage (too many names this arc to remember them all) is a new addition to Sabertooth and thus most likely not one of the original 5. So assuming the other 4 Sabertooth members are of the original 5, I think the last original member is going to show up to replace Celestial Mage girl. ./no one will probably be bothered to read all of that.
I thought the chapter was rather dull and uninteresting until the end. The last few pages were pretty awesome. I really want Natsu to win, even though he probably shouldn't. But at the very least his actions are sending a message to Sabertooth.
There were no contest repeats. There were people who had fights but no contest repeats. Everyone gets a fight and a contest (unless substituted out)
Anyway that was probably the best moment ever in Fairy Tail. Really makes up for last chapter being bad. Erza got downplayed a lot in Tenrou so it's nice to see her so badass again.
Chapter was awesome, Cana is awesome. I'm so glad she got Fairy Glitter back, she just needs to keep it. Loved Mavis' facial expressions this chapter. And next chapter seems really epic too, are we going to get 3 incredibly badass chapters in a row?
Yeah the new chapter was probably my favorite chapter out of this entire series. Even if Team Fairy Tail was predictable, it was the members I wanted to see.
And I can't wait for next week because I am quite sure we are finally going to see the Bunny from Blue Pegasus, and he/she is going to be crazy strong.
I also think that Natsu and Gajeel will loose, it's too early for Sting to be defeated. I think during the battle royal with all the teams, Natsu is going to hunt down Sting and Gajeel with Rogue (since they have their super noses) and get rematches, single battles.
Quierta The thing with Ichiya is that he is insanely strong but from what I've gathered, he is very weird with that gets him to go at full power. He doesn't get fired up in the name of his guild, or to protect his allies, like most characters in this series. I think it's protecting his reputation that gets fired up. But maybe I am looking too far into it.
I think the reason that Rogue/Sting are going to win is because Rogue's element is going to be something that he can have access to eating, like Stone or Earth. And since Gajeel and Natsu can't eat (unless they can get help from Levi, which I am quite sure is cheating), that will be what pushes Sabertooth into a win. They could tie but there have been a lot of ties lately so I don't think it is going to happen.
Have you been reading the same Fairy Tail that we have? Sting and Rogue may not be the final battle but have you not been reading all of the build up about their strength? Final battle or not it doesn't matter, they are the two strongest members of the strongest guild. They should not have been beaten by pretty much just Natsu who didn't even use Lightning Mode when they clearly were going all out.
Quierta I do remember it being said that Sting and Rogue were the strongest in Sabertooth, but that was also before Minerva joined the games and so maybe they were saying strongest on the team.
I hope next chapter just jumps right into the next event, the events have been my favorite part of this arc
Oh it was a horrible chapter, way worse than last week. It got a little better with Gildartz face when Cana was doing her thing but still, much worse than last weeks.
Chapter was amazing. I thought we had one more filler left, and then instead we got this beautiful piece of raw emotion. Well the part with sabertooth was awesome, the part with FT surprisingly was rather boring.
Also Sting looked a lot like Natsu in some of those panels.
Spoiler:I probably should use these more
I knew from the fight with Natsu that Gemma is actually kind of weak. That is why he is so obsessed with having a strong guild. Minerva seemed way to happy with her father being killed, I want to see more.
The Knight guy isn't good, he is just brilliant as *bleep*. He is just lying and trying to manipulate fairy tail to get them on his side so he can use Lucy without having to fight Fairy Tail for her.
The story made it sound like the war was all those 400 years ago, but with Dragons like Grandine still teaching Humans Dragon Slayer magic, perhaps it was a more recent affair... or still an ongoing battle...
Or maybe not. Remember During the Laxus Arc, Natsu and Gajeel couldn't pass by that age barrier. I'm still thinking they are really old. Something like living their childhood 400 years ago but then being frozen in time for something and then not waking up until July 7th, 777 when their dragons are gone.
Read it on mangstream, Mangahere is a giant piece of crap.
But holy shit that chapter. That is intense. Fairy Tail is going to be so pissed, it's going to be amazing. Though with Natsu did that gate just take all of his magic power so that now he is completely exhausted? Or did it take all of his magic and now he no longer can use magic. I wasn't totally sure with how they worded it.
Darknet I think if it just the exhaustion thing, that Natsu will be fine. Because he is in great health, unlike Makarov.
Also had a few other comments forgot to make earlier. I think the white knight dude is lying about what the gate is for. I think its something far more destructive. Since didn't he mention early in the arc that everything he did he did for Zeref-Sama.
And then I think the white knight and then the dude that arrested him are actually working together. I'm not good with these names this arc.
I don't really think Mira is out of place on second team because second team itself is just rather, weird. I personally thought it was going to be Natsu and Crime Sociere (or however it's spelled) but second team is still pretty cool. Hopefully we get to see Panther Lily do something, even if its just against rune knight grunts.
Super Squall Laxus is taking on Orga. There have been too many hints to it for it not to happen.
As for the others, I hope Erza fights Kagura but then who would handle Minerva? I don't think Juvia is strong enough. Gajeel will probably beat down Rogue and Sting though I think I would rather see like Jura just wreck their shit. Speaking of Rogue he didn't appear in the chapter at all did he? Juvia and Grey need to do some Unison Raid also. This is all just pretty excited, next chapter should be bomb.
And even though the princess is a strong candidate to be the hooded woman my money is still on Lucy's momma.
Quierta But wouldn't that be too much like Juvia vs Meldy? It was cool in that fight but I don't know if I'd want to see Juvia get a crazy power boost over Grey's life being threatening again.
I was talking to a friend about Fairy Tail last night. I told him that this chapter Fairy Tail was going to go out and beat a few weak opponents and then it will end with Grey and Rufus having a stand off. I feel so smart now that it happened.
Early chapter. It was enjoyable even though it was a little short (but since there are still a bunch of fights to get to I understand why it was only one chapter). I was hoping Grey was going to name his unlimited magic after Erza, since it was obviously based off her magic. I wonder what fight we are going to get next? I imagine Juvia since I think Mashima is going to jump into another big Fairy tail vs Sabertooth fight right away.
Yeah I don't think this arc is being rushed at all. It feels like regular Fairy Tail pace. Like said before Mashima always does things a little fast. This is going to be Fairy Tail's longest arc though, I'm not sure if it has passed Tenrou yet but there is still a lot left.
And I honestly love Tournament arcs. Sure they are predictable and usually don't tell a very good story. but they usually end up offering some of the best fights and work really good with building up fights. And this Arc isn't doing the traditional tournament style either. It is so far my favorite Fairy Tail arc, though we will see how it ends. Mashima can't end arcs well.
Really disappointing chapter, even though I feel I shouldn't be disappointed. Finding out what happened with Sabertooth around Gemma's death was interesting. And it was cool to see some real villains emerge even if I don't like their designs. I think I was disappointed because there was far too much of Natsu and co and honestly I don't give a shit about their situation right now. I just want more of the battle royal. Not even getting the next match up was disappointing.
Doesn't look very long until they get curbstomped. I thought they were going to be the main villains of this arc but now all the matches are 1v1 so FT will win and these new villains will be out in a few chapters. Lovely. Lucy and Yukina vs ponytail dude is the only fight that looks really interesting. I hope Mashima doesn't stray from the battle royal too long though.
Super early chapter was quite solid. Mashima finally did what he should've down 20 some chapters ago. I think all these matches with the wolves will end next chapter and then we will resume to battle royal ass kicking.
Also
Spoiler:Mr Knight Dude
Hologium didn't come save him until late, the bottom half of his body should be burnt off and I hope it is
And finally it is over with the executioners. Did they even get names? I don't think they did. Go Mashima! Anyway now we can finally get back to the battle royal, hopefully.
The question of who Erza is going to fight, Minerva or Kagura has been prominent for quite sometime now.And did not expect that outcome at all. After a few poor decisions with those executioners Hiro just pulls a brilliant move here. You're a genius Hiro.
Seriously though, how badass is Kagura, she went against Mavis' predictions.
Also I hope we don't get a lot of Juvia vs Shelia because it doesn't seem like a very exciting match up. I'm still hoping Juvia curvestomps Sting.
I don't think both Kagura and Minerva are team leaders. I think whoever falls first will be the team leader and be taken out by the one who is not Erza, then Erza will just get a single point for beating the other one. FT can't get too many points here, it will have to come down the wire.
Also I thought Yukina's sister was Angel. Hooded woman is Lucy's mom, still standing by that prediction.
The fight just wasn't that interesting. Kagura wasn't even using Magic yet she could keep up with Erza. I'm starting to doubt she is even a mage. And her backstory wasn't that great. I absolutely love the character but Mashima could've delivered a stronger backstory. And Archenemy should've been brought out right when Kagura said she wasn't going to hold back.
As for the ending, even though it is made to seem like it's Erza's blood, it has to be Kagura's.
As for the ending, even though it is made to seem like it's Erza's blood, it has to be Kagura's.
Maybe she was saving it for seppuku, and therefore has not unsheathed it until now?
That could be possible but I thought Kagura was too sold on revenge on Jellal first. Also if I remember right, at least in the anime I'm not sure if the Manga has this scene as well, so not sure if it's canon but Erza has a room where all of her Weapons and Armor are and that is where she requips them from. Meaning they are all actual items, meaning if she defeats Kagura, she could get Archenemy. It probably won't happen but I think it would be cool.
The one hit blow was kind of dumb. Also archenemy was nothing special, it was just a regular blade. That was really disappointing after all the hype I was expecting some super magical blade. It didn't even have a special look to it.
Minerva taking the points was predictable but it needed to happen so that was a fine ending. Not a horrible chapter. Though I don't know how Erza is going to win now. I think we will get a break from this fight though and go towards Gajeel next.
Now THAT, is a chapter. Granted I really want to know what result the princess was told to look for, I don't think it is fairy tail winning. But all the match ups set up now, well everyone except Sting is accounted for, I forgot about him. We get to see the real Erza now, not the Erza held up on Jellal or Simon, but the real Erza, and it is going to be glorius. Another threeway fight with the two lightnings and Jura is going to be great, hopefully we get Orga out first and finish with Jura vs Luxus. And probably the most exciting though was the 1,000 dragon army. I hope Future lucy doesn't prevent it and it comes, it'll be glorious.
My theories, which are probably wrong, are that Rogue's Shadow is possessed by the Shadow Dragon that he killed. And Future Lucy should be called Fake Lucy, there is no way the real Lucy would lie to her friends like that. Whoever it is I think they are actually trying to bring forth the 1000 dragon army.
All in all it was an alright chapter. I do hope they law off Future Lucy for a while though and just let us enjoy these fights. And seriously, what the hell is Sting doing? All the opponents are going to be gone soon, unless he plans to take on all 5 members of Fairy Tail (assuming Luxus survives Jura). Which now I think about it, he might. He is nice and fresh, they will all be exhausted, could be easy pickings.
As long as this battle doesn't turn into a "power of friendship!!" batle I'm cool with the shadow possession thing.
See, when I starting to read this chapter I was instantly thinking "hang on, what if this Future Lucy is a fake?", but then when two characters started to think the exact same thing, I'm not so sure. Mashima has a habit of throwing in curveballs and red-herrings when it comes to plot-twists, to make you second-guess every theory you have. Chances are that if he's trying to make us think this Lucy is a fake, she actually isn't.
Well there's the whole thing about Zeref's magic and how it led Jellal to her in the first place.
Well it was the gate that was putting off the magic that kept bringing Jellal and co to the magic games every year. So because Fake Lucy used the gate to travel back in the past maybe the magic feeling from the gate has stained on thus she puts off the same feeling that it did. For lack of better words.
Suzaku_Firebird There could also be the possibility of Sting or Orga taking out Jura (though I doubt Orga will.) Actually just thought of something, if Jura takes out Orga. Fairy Tail would have 63, and then if there is one Fairy Tail member left it would be 63 to 63 and whoever won that final match would win the games. Just a possibility. We still don't know who is going to win. The only good thing about the Fake Lucy parts is that it made me question Fairy Tail's victory at the games, I thought they'd win for sure.
I am also completely ok with this turn of events. Gajeel needs it. Watch he will take out Rogue with just one Shadow Iron Breath and then we move on. The only thing that worries me that chapter is still the chances are too high that Rogue will join Fairy Tail. Please no, please no. Go start your own guild Rogue.
Jura man-slamming Orga's face in the ground is going to become my wallpaper, it was glorious. The rest of the chapter was alright, I really hope Laxus doesn't win but he probably will, because of the power of feelings.
Nightmare Samurai I hope your right. It seems like it has been a while since Fairy Tail has actually had to use a strategy in a fight instead of just winning with willpower.
Also forgot to add, I give it only about 100 chapters until Natsu curbstomps one of the four gods of Ishval.
And what happened to Sting? he went from a devilish expression to pure sadness.
Fairy Tail will have 63 points, Sabertooth has 55 and 9 Fairy tail points are on the board. Solo stomping confirmed. I believe that was my theory =p./inb4 someone had said it before me.
Anyway it sounds like all the fights will wrap up next chapter, at least from the note on the last page, seems like things took a while to get going for this battle royal and now its ending so fast. I don't think the Sting stuff will end next chapter though.
Nightmare Samurai While I do think Luxus might be the one to end the curbstomp I don't think he can be Light/Lightning because second generation dragon slayers can't eat. As far as we have seen at least, a second generation dragon slayer (Luxus and Cobra) have never eaten. It could just be they've never had the chance but Luxus didn't even eat Orga's flames.
Enth None of the fights were oneshots though. Gruvia and Erza had both landed attacks on their opponents in past chapters, with Erza turning the tide last chapter. Even if this chapter it just took one attack to win, I wouldn't call them oneshot battles.
The part with Sting made me laugh. I'm still not sure if I hated it or was okay with it. I just don't like how Sting was all cool and confident, even after Natsu rocking his shit. Came into the battle with a plan, and it was a good plan. But then he just totally fell apart, it's not in his character.
I thought it all made sense really. There is a little bit we still don't know but I enjoy that sense of mystery. There was a huge source of Zeref-like energy on day 3, who Jellal was tracking down to see who it was. Future Lucy came on day 4 radiating the same Zeref energy, thus Jellal assumed she was the one who came on day 3. Future Rogue was the one who came on day 3 actually and he was the one talking to the princess, telling her the result of the magic games so she would open Eclipse 2. I don't really understand the confusion, unless maybe I am taking everything too simply.
Chapter was alright, pretty much was just all explanation. The only thing that bugs me are those final moments where Natsu goes all out, it should've been Lucy. He needs to let her stand up for herself once in a while. Let her have a badass moment. Mashima just hates Lucy this arc.
Also Princess mentioned there might be more people from the future here, I think that there is. And there will be somebody actually evil.
Final also, Mashima is bad with showing age, Future Rogue doesn't look 7 years older.
The Natsu and Lucy interactions are one of the best parts of this series. Also I bet Natsu's plan is to get swallowed by a dragon and then make it's insides go boom.
Also I was hoping that Kagura would save Erza and give Erza Archenemy damnit. But Jellal saving her was still alright. Milliana better not screw anything up though.
The Natsu and Lucy interactions are one of the best parts of this series. Also I bet Natsu's plan is to get swallowed by a dragon and then make it's insides go boom.
inb4 Lucy's journal details how Natsu tried that plan and it resulted in him getting killed or some shit like that.
Pshaw Natsu is invincible. If his plan backfires he will probably just eat the Dragon's Guts and get some super new form.
Also if the dragon slayers can communicate wherever they are, why isn't Laxus calling out Natsu and be like, hey we have a dragon covered in fire over here, you match up really well against it, let's switch.
