A bunch of one-shots and a surrender?? Pointless. The tagline of "most tense moment in history" is actually hilarious as it couldn't be further than the truth.

What? No this chapter was awesome. This is the epitome of tournament arcs. I've made it no secret that I hate these things usually. They tend to put the story on pause and waste a ton of time. This was the opposite. The author wanted to show how crushingly powerful Fairy Tail was, and he did it. And he wasn't about to let some bullshit confidence boosted Sting win, even if he had powered up. That moment was the best part, and totally subverted all of the nonsense other shounen manga engage in. The enemy actually gave up just from how badass Fairy Tail looked.

All of my praise for an incredibly ballsy move by the author. I think only one member of Fairy Tail even used her second origin. They pretty much just trounced everyone.

Altogether pleased by this chapter. Oh my goodness. 0 Complaints. I didn't see Sting giving up that easily but since he did it that is wonderful. I mean, if he hadn't given up, and Fairy Tail beat him down in their current state (I don't see Mashima making them lose...) then people would be complaining even MORE, so.

Enth, oh I absolutely agree. I like characters to struggle and prevail in the end. But this was clearly an instance where Fairy Tail should have won handily and did. I get tired of authors forcing struggles for the sake of tension, because it just slows the crap out of things. Put struggle in places where character growth is at stake, not in a tournament arc.

I already said I meant they finished their fights with one shot once they got serious. Gray and Juvia won instantly when they decided to work together, and Erza won instantly when she activated Second Origin, which completely gets rid of any feeling of tension or them being in genuine trouble or peril, because they would have won in 2 seconds if they just did that at the beginning.

Found it funny how they reused some panels from last chapter.

What fight with Rogue? As far as I saw Gajeel powered up and then we cut to him resting. Unless I missed a chapter in which case, I'm looking mighty like an idiot.

It didn't surprise me too nuch - its happebed a couple of times before in Fairy Tail ^^

I don't fully know what is going on. It feels like they aren't explaining this very well.
