quote Plot Summary

An airship (the purpose of which still perplexes me, as it seems to remain a curiosity throughout the show) drifts quietly over the town. In this town, everybody has a special quasi-magical power, save only for Makoto Okano. Having been away for years, he and his sister Hinata now return to the town, and Makoto soon encounters his childhood sweetheart Minamo. It seems the stuff of ordinary romance and everyday life, yet there is a mystery under the surface of the strange town.

Episode Comments: The episodes are brief, lasting about 12 minutes each. For some reason, there are also decimal episodes. For example, the last episode seems to be episode 12.5. Why? I have no idea. The 13th episode is just recap.
Opening: "Feel on the wind" by Hiroko Kasahara

This anime is similar to ef: ~a tale of memories~, a newer show by the same team. It has an extremely unique animation style thanks to CG by Makoto Shinkai. No seriously, it's stunning. I don't know of any anime with a remotely similar style. It goes into moments where it seems the view moves around the room, as if in 3 dimensions. It's really cool. Anyway, the plot is very calm throughout, and keeps you interested for reasons that you'll probably never understand. I still don't... The blimp is one element in particular that I'll never get. It's just there. They pretend it's important, but they never explain why. See if you can explain this to me when you watch it. As a note, there is an implied sex scene, but nothing is actually on screen.

That, my friend, you do not need to tell me. I'm well aware of my... condition, and it is good. Watching this didn't exactly help break it. Such amazing visuals aren't resistible.
