re: Folder Ratings IV

Your Flashman folder is not original. The Flashman + HyperRatton combo has been done countless times before. The most famous folder containing this combo is Flash Crusher:

IVk. Flash Crusher
----------------------
3 PanlGrb *
3 Ratton1 F
3 Ratton2 F
3 Ratton3 F
3 VarSwrd F
3 Plasma3 F
3 Invis *
2 Mole2 *
1 Fullcust *
1 FolderBk *
1 FlashManV1 F
1 FlashManV2 F
1 FlashManV3 F
1 FlashManV4 F
1 Icestage * [preset]

Add in AntiNavi to make it a BodyGrd folder.

Its terrible. You are completely all over the place. Stick to one thing and stay with it. Dont do what proto said and put in an AntiNavi. Then you would have more problems with the folder.

You have MasterStyle, which is a no-no from the go. Its not practical, and definitely not worth it. You need to stick to one theme. If you do WANT to go the BodyGuard way, then take out MasterStyle and put in some AntiNavis. I suggestt having some backup damage. Some HEAVY backup damage, namely Mistman, which comes in M code. Get rid of those Recovers and Yoyos. You have no support whatsoever for them.

As of now...

re: Folder Ratings IV

Aside from the Masterstyle PA and recovery chips (which I understand why you're telling me to get rid of it)exactly how is it 'all over'

The Yo-Yo and Mine Chips serve for alot of damage

The Shadow and Invis Chips serve for a good defense

And Anti Damage is good for doing both

It does look allot like my folder, but has alot of differences.
my folder is more elec based (mostly plasma3) so I have elce+30 (if I'm not mistaken, flashman's paralyze effect lasts more if it does more damege) , I dont depend on the hyperat. my folder is also area grabing, I have metagel3 and rockcubes so my oppponent wont be able to move.
and varsword, I think it's only good against shadow, but actually I'v been thinking to put it since I have no shadow defence....

You're trying to hit your opponent with Mine and Yo-yo? Tell me, do you actually think that a chip that needs to hit EXACTLY the third space in front of you is going to hit?

Anti-damage is the worst defense in the game. I'd rank a code clashing Darkaura higher than Antidamage. What do you do when your opponent shoots you with his buster, runs around so your shurikens miss, and then gets into position to attack you? When you come down from your throwing spree, there's a small window of time for your opponent to PWN you. It does neither offense nor defense - it only helps the opponent.

And Hotshotz pulled up an ancient version of Flash Crusher. He should've pulled out Flash Buster.

I might make a list later of all folder ideas that have been used. Or at least the ones I remember.

re: Folder Ratings IV

Here's a folder that didn't take long for me to build, but completely dominated a friend of mine at lunch. I like to call this one Bubble Frenzy.

FstGauge * [regular]
FoldrBak *
BubblMn v1-4 B
Navi+40 *
Atk+30 *
Aqua+30 * x4
VarSwrd B x4
Invis * x4
Pawn B x3
Areagrab * x2
Rook *
Magnum2 B x3
FullCust *

Style: AquaCust
Navi Customizer: 2x MegFldr1, Custom1
Strategy: This folder uses one of the most underrated navis in the game, BubbleMan. True, he may only be good when you're in the same row as your opponent, so that's where the Magnum2 chips come in and knock out the other two rows that your opponent isn't standing on. Doing so will make it much easier for you to PWN the opponent with BubbleMan, especially when you use a Navi+40, Atk+30, and two Aqua+30 chips on v4. VarSwrd is in this folder to deal some extra damage.

This folder... Hurts like hell. It's a great strategy, and it's definitely original as far as our neighborhood netbattling tournaments are. I'm looking forward to seeing this one in action this weekend against the other EXE 3 players. 10/10

I'm a friend of Hot Head's, and the last time I checked, he couldn't link up with anyone who had the game. What you say may be true, but when used in-game, AntiDmg actually is a good defense/offense. None of the in-game Navis are smart enough to try to dodge, so when you look at where he's coming from, it makes sense.

Hothead, I have some advice for you, too. In my opinion, MstrStyl is a waste. Yes, the damage is okay, but look at how they work separately. You waste 4 of your 5 MChip slots when you can only use one of them, and even then you have to have the right field setup. The only redeeming factor is the fact that, when in Wood element, you can use GaiaBlad to deal some heavy damage. I'd seriously consider removing the P.A. for something that works better. Also, the chances of your opponent being in the right spot for the Yo-Yo to hit are pretty slim. Finally, Mine is good, but to increase it's effectiveness, you'd have to have some areagrabs or metagels to reduce the number of panels they have.

Thanks swk, although I am pretty much just making up folders I plan on making, I think I understand the flaws of the chips I planned on using, I think I'll be posting an Area Grab Folder up soon

As far as I'm concerned, 3 areagrabs are a must for any folder; 4 wouldn't hurt. However, that's just me.

Actually, it depends on the type of folder. Some folders (ie. 2xHero) don't need any areagrabs. There are other folders that only need one or two (ie. Bubble Frenzy [see above]), but are mainly for defensive purposes (in other words, getting back stolen panels). Sword based folders are the main type of folder that requires areagrabs.

re: Folder Ratings IV

Hey everyone. Zero's back with a new folder of d00m!

4 Areagrab *
4 Snake D
3 Varsword D
3 Geddon 1 *
3 Shadow *
2 Mole2 *
3 attack +10 *
2 Invis *
1 Fullbust * [Preset]
1 Lifeaura D
1 Darkman V2 D
1 Darkman V3 D
1 Darkman V4 D
1 Darkman V5 D

My version of accursed Twilight, since i don't have blue version. () I think you all know this already, but Darkman's damage potential is INSANE. I coupled it with snake and varsword for elemental pain. (Because I wanted the folder to be better against electric styles, which are used oh so much) And the Varsword's Elemental sonic is oh so useful for 160/320 damage of elemental pain.

Basically, I used areagrabs instead of metagels because metagels can't steal broken areas now can they? I control the stage with my 3 geddon 1 *'s, so no devine choas or any of that. >_> I have all three lines of defense, so theres no way to break it. Snakes hit invis opponents I think. I also have varsowrd for anti-shadow purposes. What this folder can't do is hurt moles, but whatever.

I considered using navi recycle over darkman V5, but after all 3 attack + 10's... darkman V5 can do quite the number after a row lock, which is way easier than an arealock. I don't have rooks, because that means less snakes, and I can finish off most opponents in one blow, or a handful once my folder gets rolling.

Enjoy, Proton.

re: Folder Ratings IV

Looks good. Take out the Atk+10's for Navi+20's, and take out an Areagrab * for a Navi+40 to maximize DarkMan's damage potential. You'll need a MegFldr1, though, unless you decide to take LifeAura out. Other than that, it's looking very good. I'll be adding this one to the hall of fame with these minor corrections, but I'll need the recommended style and NaviCust setup.

8/10
