I just got a light cross bow but underneath it also has flame toss which is greyed out. Can anyone tell me what this means?

Your seeing through the equipment screen and have flame toss selected as your current spell, same thing happened to me but in my case I thought I had a scimatar that could cast soul arrow for about twenty minutes lol.

now I feel stupid...

Meh, no need. I spent 3 hrs fighting the red dragon the other day just to see if I could kill him at level 5 (you can) this game has the ability to make even hardcore pro gamers feel like noobs.

damn all this time i thought certain weapons could act as catalysts for this same reason, wow so ive been playing through thinking (there must be an item that will allow my weapons to be catalysts then, cause my falchion says soul arrow!) wrong

If there was a weapon that could work as a catalyst, it would be the most used weapon in the game.

Who knows, maybe one day it will be an online only earnable item (since I have dial up and thereby could never get it)

i used to have that when i was playing FF11.. i got level 75 twice before i got broadband... i don't call it dial up anymore... i call it HOS (house-of-screams) because everytime a gamer has dial-up all you hear is screaming when the phone rings...

I have two phone lines, one for internet the other for the actual phone. The problem though is that you cant connect with a PS3 using dial up, you have to have broadband at minimum, which is a royal bite.

I hate to admit it, but seeing the spells through the menu messed with my head a bit at first as well.

I lost count how many times I've done this. Especially in 4-2 along those cliffs, when all of a sudden the target would switch to a flying manta and I would run after it to my death...
