Blue Phantom ( coop )

I tried getting info about coop play, but it was very vague info, i jus wanted to know if its something that will become clear in the game, or is it something completely illogical

when you say ALIVE, you mean after i finish an actual boss

Make use of it while you can, because it seems the higher leveled one becomes the rarer it is to find Blue Phantoms offering help. But I could just be unlucky.

definitely. once I got to level 75, finding help was like pulling teeth. I would see blue signs every once in a while but i think it was people pre-arranging meets with their buddies. cause they would pop up then disappear when i got close.

Okay so when in soul mode, i tried the blue phantom thing, and got summoned to somebodys world, it was great but the frustrating thing was i didn't get any of the items, presumably because i'm in the other world,

if i want to summon players to my world, i have to be alive to do that? And find the signs on the floor?

Soul signs >can't< be placed in 'checkpoint' areas, such as rooms you fight bosses in (blue eye stone in inventory will fade a bit to represent inaccessible spawn points).

A player that has completed a chapter, and is alive, can't summon somebody to an area the other person hasn't completed yet. Likewise, a player who has defeated a boss can fight the boss again as a blue phantom, by dropping their soul sign in an area 'before' the boss' location. You can do this to raise your white tendency I believe.

Also seems that, for example, if one player (alive) has completed a world up to say, 3-3, they can't summon somebody to their game that hasn't completed 3-3. Even if you a blue phantom trying to link up with you drops a soul sign for you to use in 3-1, the living player still won't be able to backtrack to that area and resummon.

If you are trying to play co-op with somebody through the campaign you're going to have to do a lot of switching. Both players will have to tackle a world that they are on equal footing with, progression wise. So long as both players are within 10 soul levels from each other, and their progression in that world is the same, they can be summoned by one another. The living player summons the ally, they defeat the area boss, (thus the phantom player is revived), and then the original living player needs to die, and allow the other player to summon them as a blue phantom to help them clear that same boss in their own world version. (Remember, the player that progressed ahead of the other has to drop their soul sign in an area BEFORE the boss' location - if you drop it in a room that exists beyond the boss' location you're asking the game to summon you to a different player's game that has also beaten that boss).

So yeah, co-op can be a pain unless you work the details out with the other party, or there's a lot of players in your level range. If you're not on new game+, and you manage to reach a very high level, it'll be much less common to see any soul signs for you to summon.
