Depending on the mood I'm in, either the Spanish or the Huns. Usually it's the Spanish 'cause of their great technology tree and awesome navy (I kinda have a weakness for naval battles). I favor the powerhouse attack, so the Spanish paladins and bombard towers plus the awesome navy makes me choose them most of the time. If I'm not playing on a map with water; however, the Huns' paladins and especially the Tarkans are awesome! Most enemies fold pretty quickly when there's about 120 paladins and/or Tarkans and 10-20 trubuchets pouring into their base.

My favorite civ is the Saracens...the Marmelukes are unstoppable!! They punish paladins, pikemen, infantry, and they LAY DOWN the Persian elephants!! You will not stop them!!

Unless.....you are using siege. I love the Onagers w/the Saracens...they can be upgraded 3 times and researched to have +1 attack range. Siege and archers are the only thing that will stop Marms.

However, I have found (through multiple games w/a friend of mine) that an army of Onagers is UNSTOPPABLE!!!

I don't care who you are...what civilization you use...you are NOT stopping 50+ Onagers...especially if they are from the Celts (then they fire 30% faster).

The best time for me to play is Friday night...10:00pm EST or later. Saturdays are ok too...but Friday's are better.

My favorite is probably spanish, mostly cuz they have good siege weapons, ranged gun horse units, and bombard towers, all of which are essential to my modes of conquesting.

I like either the saracens, mongols, goths, or britons. Yeah, that's more than one, but I can NEVER choose between those four. If it's on a water map I like the koreans, for their turtle ships of course. With the saracens I love their mamelukes and siege onagers, I love the mnogol mangudai and hussars, I love pumping out TONS of huskarls from 10 barracks incredibly fast, and I love 12 range longbowmen.

The British Longbowmen are virtually unstoppable against the CPU, but they can be defeated by skilled human players.

So as of right now, I'm trying out new civilizations to see if I can find one I like that will do well in onlne play.

There are obviously some goods civs out there, like the persians or spanish, that I could just NEVER play. I don't know why, they just seem incredibly boring to me. I like playing fast civs, like the mongols, or any civ with a good archer unit (longbowmen of course).
I've just been playing with random civ recently, because I can NEVER choose which one I like.

The prblem with longbowman is that calvarys can slaughter them, but not without taking heavy losses of course, the other bad thing about them, like most other ranged units, is that they are only effective enough to matter when they are in large groups.
