massive win yesterday. i think both sides will be looking to bat first in every game of this series, i don't think either side are very good at chasing and both look prone to a massive collapse.

cook and finn obviously the stand out players from yesterday. finn was hard done by imo not to play the final test against pakistan considering it was a dead rubber but has come out firing and done no harm for the sri lanka series, great competition amongst the bowlers with anderson, broad, bresnan, finn, tremlett and onions when all are fit.

cook though is quite incredible. botham said after the 3rd test that broad should replace him as ODI captain because there wasn't a shot played in vein (or some bollocks like that), cretins like him need to be strung up. cook's record since being captain in ODI's: 737 runs in 16 innings, avg of 53, strike rate of 94 with 2 tons and 5 fifties. i just can't understand the criticism, he's clearly growing in this format game by game and having an average foundation of 53 at just under a run a ball is something every team would take from an opener.

still not convinced with KP opening and morgan looks to be horrifically out of form, kieswetter still looks like a rabbit in the headlights at this level imo but probably worth sticking with. patel also proving his huge worth as an ODI player.

gutted that buttler's got his hand injury (webbing) keeping him out. it's a huge series for KP, morgan and a few others though, need to turn up soon.

Well, fair play to Canterbury, they did well. Richard Levi shows exactly why we need to start picking players who are actually performing well in domestic cricket, he was great to watch. pommyadam, Simple answer mate, f*ck knows. He is is over 30, averages less than 30 in FC, and i think we honestly all know the real reason he is there. The only good thing is he won't be there for more than a year, and then Quinton de Kock can come in and replace him, for those who have not heard of him, he is touted to be the next Gilchrist.

Really could not care less about the T20 series against NZ, and only care a little bit about the ODI's. BRING ON THE TEST SERIES!!
