i just joined a gym in a late attempt to get a bit healthier before my holiday
on the 23rd june

what are the chances of seeing a different between now and in 6 weeks time? (am not fat just i need to feel healthier)
if i go every other day or something and do a good session
also if i stop eating 4 chinese's a week i think that would help

Depends what you want? More definition or bigger muscles.

If you want more definition (less body fat). Hit the cardio hard and eat a lot less. If you want to add muscle then its not just a matter of going in the gym everyday. You will need a plan, adequate rest periods for each muscle group and a significant amount of food intake.

I think when you're building muscle the only thing you should eat is lettuce.

Chicken is good, eggs, fish oil, brocoli and red meat. Protein aren't a bad shout either.

If I was you I would stick to running and maybe get some dumbbells totalling in 20k of weight (10kg each). Then a simple three day plan whilst running.

I only ever did curls when I was working with the dumbbells, there was a few resistance machines that targeted them, but I can't remember what they were called. I never really did strictly bicep workouts, but if you have access to a rowing machine, that works your biceps as well as a fair bit of your upper body, bit of a break from the usual stuff too. Lazzara might have something for you though.

I haven't been for ages, simply not had time, but I'm definitely going to get back into it when exams are finished, and carry it on right through the summer because I'll be doing *bleep* all else. Last time I had an activity that went alongside my gym work, so I always think that contributed to the gains I made too, this time I won't have one so it'll be interesting to see what gains I make this time without doing a sport alongside it.

it does though. Doing more reps with a smaller weight will make you leaner than small reps of a big weight.

A smaller weight, yes. A small weight, no. It still needs to be a weight which you feel resistance with. Lifting a really small weight isn't going to do anything.

Im not into this sort of stuff really, but isn't it mean't to be a certain % of the max weight you can lift, or something like that?
