BSN/BSS to European Champions Challenge |
![]() --- The Challenge --- It's exactly what it says in the title. Every year people try to do this, so this thread can be for players hints, tactics help, boasting about achievements and general support for probably the longest, hardest, most rewarding game on Football Manager. --- The Rules --- First off, you have to start with a team from the Blue Square South or Blue Square North. It must be a team in these divisions at the start of the game. You must manage this team from before the first game of the first season. Teams must not be edited or modified in any way. Kits can be changed but anything affecting gameplay is not allowed. It's really up to you, but I would say that any form of 'Genie Scout' or something similar isn't allowed. It makes this challenge too easy. Attribute masking can be taken off. You can load up any leagues and players. Your reputation must begin on automatic. Countries can be managed to keep the game fresh, but the club team must be managed from start to finish. In the following few posts I'll do a list of teams and information, as well as posting peoples achievements (although this isn't a competition, so there arn't any points or anything) and some players and tactics if people want to upload them. Good luck and keep us all up to date with your progress! This message was edited by Huzzer1878 on Nov 20 2008.

Great, I'll be updating the thread tonight with a bit more information. I'm not going to do a list of participants or anything, because it's a long challenge and people will drop out. Give it a go though and any promotions or cup wins I'll post up on one of the reserved posts.
For the record, I'm doing it with Southport (separate from my SOMS). I'm halfway through the first season and doing well, I'll post some screenshots later. ------------------- *Insert Sig Here*

As a fan of a team recently been promoted (Lewes) I know what it's like to be a BSS supporter.
The team to go for is probably either Chelmsford or Eastleigh. Good players there... Good Luck, I'd want a space, but Mum says I can only have it for Christmas

Some nice choices of teams. Feel free to post players you might come across or updates.
I'm 1st with Southport - they have a decent wage budget and a very good team. Kilheeney is a great striker. Only about 16 games to go so i'll post up some screenshots and signings then. Just a thought, It'd be great if we could get every team in the BSS or BSN into the Premiership. It'd only take 48 of us...

ZOMG, so doing this Huzzer. Mind if I start off with my favourite BSS team, Basingstoke? I love them, and I got them to the Championship in last years version! Personally, the biggest hurdle I found was getting from BSP into League 2, because you're competing against professional clubs. However, once you become professional, it becomes a lot easier!
So yeah, count me in Huzzer, I'll race you to the premiership ------------------- ![]()

quote walnutsIt's on! I know what you mean about getting to League Two. It's all about trying to stay up after promotion as well. We've all got a year to do it, so just keep the save file if it's boring you and come back to it later. ------------------- *Insert Sig Here*
