Prisoner's Dilemma - Win Free Prizes And Donate To Neoseeker

A little late in coming but here it is at last. Like last time in Loungin' I will be giving away either one free Neoseeker T-Shirt in the case of one winner or two free name changes if two people win as well as a donation to Neoseeker that is set based on the amount of participation in this event. This time we will focus around Prisoner's Dilemma.

The summary is as follows:

Two crime groups have been arrested by the police. The police have insufficient evidence for a conviction, and, having separated each group, visit each of them to offer the same deal. If one group testifies ("defects") for the prosecution against the other group and the other remains silent, the betrayers goes free and the silent accomplices receive the full 10-year sentence. If both groups remain silent, both crime groups are sentenced to only six months in jail for a minor charge. If each betrays the other, each receives a five-year sentence. Each crime group must choose to betray the other or to remain silent. Each one is assured that the other would not know about the betrayal before the end of the investigation. How should the crime groups act?

So here's how it will work.

2 days will be given for members to register to play. To register all you have to do is post here saying you want to participate. Once that time period has elapsed I will separate the members into two crime groups. Each voting period will last two days. To vote you must send your choice to me in a PM which will be explained in more detail later. Each group member has two choices; betray the opposite team or stay silent. Each team can work together to try and get all of their members to vote a certain way or you can decide for yourself what you want to vote. At the end of the voting period I will add up all of the votes and whichever choice gets the most votes on each team is the choice that the group will make.

If both teams stay silent then a random 1/3 of the members will be eliminated.

If crime group A betrays crime group B then all of crime group A stays in and crime group B is eliminated. Crime group A will then be separated into two groups.

Vice versa if crime group B betrays crime group A.

If each crime group betrays the other then a random 2/3 of members will be eliminated.


Each time a decision is made the groups will be remade and the process listed above will be repeated.

If you do not vote then you are automatically disqualified however you will still be counted in the total of members joined which means you will add to the amount of money donated to Neoseeker.

At the end of the voting period I will add up the votes from each team and will post the outcome. The game will continue until there is one single winner who will win a free Neoseeker T-Shirt or two winners of a Name Change. The amount I donate to Neoseeker will be decided by the amount of players who register divided by 3.

Registration will end at 12:00pm AKT on Sunday September 14th.
