Type-0 Natsubi Information Thread [I fixed the Download link <3]
Hello, fellow FF fans, and welcome to the Type-0 Natsubi Information Thread! In this thread, over the next few days you'll find information for getting Natsubi to your PSP, a guide to menus and conversations, strategies for the four missions, tips on how to use the members of Class Zero effectively, and hopefully much more.
Have them in the same folder when downloaded, and Right Click > Extract Here on the Part1. (You'll need WinRAR or some equivalent for this)
II. Connect your PSP to your Computer, OR insert the Memory Stick Duo into your computer. Whatever you prefer. Make sure you have at least 332MB of free space.
III. Move the folder 'PSP' straight into the root of your PSP/Memory Stick
This section details the seven playable cast members, and what you need to know. Note that the Abilities listed here are the default setup. You get to mess around with them if you feel up to it.
Spoiler:Machina
Machina is a mid-range attacker. His weapons of choice are a sort of Drill-Sword.
Nine is the typical rebel student, and, fairly enough is also the Dragoon character. His Spear attacks make him an effective long-range attacker, yet he can still hold his own in mid-range combat
Sice is the girl who would rather let hell break loose then wait back and plan. Her attacks with her scythe make her a powerful mid-range attacker; -but only if you can control her, Sice has been said by the development team to be the hardest character to play as.
Abilties: T: Scythe C: Dark Nebula S: Thunder MIS (missile) X: Cure
Spoiler:King
King is the tough guy character. You'll find him standing back letting his two pistols do the talking. He's a good long-range attacker, but if the enemy gets too close you better start calling for help.
The basic stuff you need to know to play. As simple as these sound, these things can be confusing at first, so I reccommend you take a quick glance over this section before jumping in.
Spoiler:Starting a Mission
An Essential Part, yet a tad difficult to find at the start.
Head into the main lounge and select one of the moogles around the main table (There should only be one right now). This moogle will give you 3 options, in order:
Tutorial
Mission
Nothing
I do recommend you play the tutorial to get familiar with the controls.
After completing that mission, other Moogles will appear around the table, which you can select to start other missions
Spoiler:Mission - Character Select
This bit can actually be very complicated for those who have no understanding of Japanese. Follow carefully.
First up, you'll be on a screen with two sections; 'ALL MEMBER' and 'MISSION MEMBER'. Here, select everyone. This section is who you want participating overall, and theres 7 slots and you got 7 kids. So yeah.
When thats done, you'll be prompted to hit Yes or No. Choosing Yes takes you into some confusing status/equipment screen you don't need to worry about, so hit No. (Jap Tip: The one with 3 Symbols is No (iie) and the one with 2 symbols is Yes (hai). I know SOMEONE is going to get confused with that.)
Next, hit the bottom option since you can't choose the top option. Select from either Golem or Shiva to be your Eidolon for the mission. Then, hit the only available option on whatever one you chose.
NOW you choose your active members. Select the one you want to control, then two you want to back you up. You can change these throughout the mission, so don't worry. Then hit OK!
This final option, you can either hit the middle one, which will allow 'Guests' into your game. 'Guests' are AI controlled characters, but you have no control over who is used, and you can't switch between your active and the Guest. The advantage to Guests, however, is that they'll keep coming back no matter how many of your characters you've lost. The bottom one will turn Guests off, and you have full control over who's in the party and the ability to switch characters without having to call them from the Reserve.
Its up to you what one you want here.
Spoiler:Saving the Game
In the Main Lounge, and in locations in missions, you'll encounter a floating red crystal. These open the Main Menu, where you can mess with equipment, the Crystarium, and a heap of other stuff.
However I can't be bothered to look into that right now, so head straight down to the second last option. Thats the Save Menu. I'm sure you all know how Saving a PSP game works, so i'll let you go from here
A basic walkthrough of each of the four Missions, along with advice of what character to use and how to deal with different situations.
Spoiler:Empire Escape
Difficulty: Normal
This is the first of the four missions within Natsubi, and they don't muck around with an easy start. If you haven't played the Tutorial yet, get out and do it first.
Head up the stairs to your left. You'll see the enemy coming straight away. Take everyone here down, up the stairs and after a bit the path will open. Head down the road and you'll see two vans coming at you. They'll drop off more soldiers for you to beat up. Once you're done with them, the gate will lower and bring out two more; however one of these is a Commander, so keep your guard up and use Support skills when needed. The good thing is, you can take out the Commander and the other soldier will surrender. This strategy works in any given scenario where a Commander unit exists.
In here, take down the two wolf-things and two soldiers, then head around the corner and walk up to the closed gate. A mech will come over to fight, and another soldier will sneak into the fight while you're pre-occupied, so pay attention. Use Ace or King to take down the mech from a distance. When they're down, the gate will open.
Here head forward, then right. You'll instantly see a very, very big mecha. Approach it and it will come down to fight you. I reccommend using Sice's powerful attacks here, or Queen if you can stay close enough. After it takes a fair amount of damage, it will retreat and shoot missiles from a distance. You want to get through here, so stay close to the truck and when the mech shoots it, it'll be knocked out of the way. Do the same for the second truck and then head inside the building.
In here you'll get a short scene where whoever you're playing as complains about the big mech, before it bursts partially into the room. Stand back and use Ace's standard attack to deal damage until it retreats upwards and starts a missile barrage. After a while, it will give up. Head out through the only exit here. You'll be in a room with a Heal Circle and a Menu Crystal. Do what you need to do and then head up the stairs.
Head along the hallway here until a monster comes along the hallway. If you're having trouble, abuse Ace's teleport to keep jumping behind him. Keep moving until you reach the room with the 3 bat-things, then head down that hallway into the large room. Kill the monsters here then move along into the final room. You'll see what to expect before you actually get there.
The first thing you want to do in the room with the Behemoth is evade either left or right, because he doesn't wait. Use strong attackers like Sice and Nine to finish him off quickly. When he attacks, he'll do it twice in a row, so don't stop evading until he's definently stopped.
Head out, and head down the staircase to the left to complete the mission.
Spoiler:Giudecca Battle
Difficulty: Hard
The first thing you want to do is run forward. Get out of this area. There's a hydra attacking and every so often you'll take damage from it's attack on the landscape. Ace's teleport abuse won't stop the damage being taken.
Keep following the student and take out the Bombs as you pass them. The Samurai guy who jumps out at you won't be too much trouble, but the dragon takes some work. Use either Ace or King to take it down. Sice and Nine will also work if you're close enough. Keep going and take out the other samurai and bombs.
This area has two dragons, try to keep them away from each other and take them down one at a time. Move forward to another dragon, but watch out for a new enemy. These Zombies are good at dodging, and if they get close enough they'll hug you for some moderate damage. Take them down with powerhouse Sice or Queen, or King from a distance. Ace's cards work too, but I find they dodge that a lot more often. Keep killing the zombies that appear and after a few more, the mission will conclude.
Spoiler:Rush the Big Bridge
Difficulty: Very Hard Before doing this, I recommend having most of your characters at least at Level 10.
This one starts off with an appearance by Bahamut as he fires his lazor into the distance. Head down the hill and into the fray.
Behind the tent in front of you, theres a mech. It can fly, so keep some range attackers. When it lands (or you knock it down) charge in with the heavy-hitters.
Next area is an open field before reaching another tent. Behind the tent are three very strong mechs. The best strategy I can reccomend is to be very careful with when you attack. A good thing to try is Ace's Attack-Teleport-Attack-Teleport, if your timing is good this can dodge nearly anything while keeping the fight going. If you get stuck in a pinch, this is a good chance to use your Eidolon. Once you've taken care of that, move forward. Theres a rest spot with a Menu Crystal and a Recovery Circle. Move on when you're ready.
In here is a bunch of soldiers and one mech at the back. You could kill them all, or charge and take down the mech, as its a Commander unit.
The next area is the same, but the mech here is stronger so I do reccommend taking the soldiers down first so you can focus. Once its down, more soliders will appear. Once you've killed them, you'll hear the enemy shouting and the bridge will be accessable, though 3 mechs will come out to fight. You can take down all 3, or focus on the center one which the commander is in, causing the other 2 to surrender when he's defeated. Once you've done that, head across the bridge and its Mission Complete!
Spoiler:Break through the Heart of the Enemy
Difficulty: Impossible This mission is HARD. Real hard. Don't even think about attempting this until your characters are near Lv.25-30.
There are various ways to tackle this mission. The overall goal is to kill every enemy.
You could spend hours of your time grinding your characters into perfect war machines, unstoppable heroes. And then fight a long, harsh battle, and hope to come out on top.
...or, you could summon Shiva. She pretty much wipes everything away. You'll most likely have to summon her twice.
This Mission is open to the players mind, so tackle it any way you want to.
No shit. Type-0 Natsubi doesn't currently have an English version since Type-0 itself is not yet being made for an English audience. When an english demo DOES come out, feel free to use the information here though.
The Game Data is corrupted!
You didn't follow the instructions properly. Try again. If it STILL doesn't work, you got a faulty download, so go re-download it and try again.
Why did my character die when I summoned an Eidolon?
Type-0's Summoning requires you to sacrifice a character in order to bring out the Eidolon. Carefully consider who you're willing to lose before you summon.
How do I revive my characters?
You can't. Once they die in a mission, you can't use them again for that mission. You'll have to start the mission over.
It won't let me do anything on the Crystarium
Yeah, its locked in the demo. At least we can view it. ..Its not very pretty looking like XIII's though, eh?
re: Type-0 Natsubi Information Thread [I fixed the Download link <3]
Notification received and it was well appreciated . Thanks Rabla, its time to get this demo downloaded ASAP . Kluck showed me the link like 3 days ago via facebook as well so I assume he is now playing the game too.
re: Type-0 Natsubi Information Thread [I fixed the Download link <3]
The last mission was ridiculously hard. But I just spammed the summon Shiva and won with ease. Plus what does the man say in that city part (accessed by the fifth moogle). You obviously choose yes to his question but nothing happens.
re: Type-0 Natsubi Information Thread [I fixed the Download link <3]
Rabla this seems like helpful information in regards to the gameplay, tech support and FAQ. I'll go ahead and sticky this. We have another information thread that seemed to have been used for early news. I'll still keep that other one a sticky but feel free to speak up for a possible merge or whatnot .
