well its not out but the first 1 wasent really that good

It's not out yet. And I liked the first one, it did good for an old game, a lot of the games released with the PS2 were really bad.

Kengo 2 IS good!! In fact it's awsome! Spec. if you liked the first one as i did. The sad thing tho is that it doesnt have any US release. They only released it in Europe, and then under the name 'Sword of the Samurai'.

I already feel for you US suckers wanting to play this one. Which is why i'm going to keep talking about how great it is just a little longer,

As in the first game you play a wandering Kengo/Samurai starting out in a small village somewhere in Japan. There you build your stats, techniques and reputation before you go on to compete in the local tournament. For those of you who played the first one, brace yourselves, cause in this one you DO get to go to Edo. The game actually starts once you win the tournament (and that takes just as long as it did in number one). I wont spoil the game, but i'll tell you this: After you get to Edo the real samurai life begins. You will fight authentic samurai from Japans feudal era with authentic weapons and authentic moves. It is even said that the other samurai you meet use the same techniques as their real life counterparts did. Wicked!!

As for the gameplay they've improved it alot. Your combinations are now strings of attacks, parries and counters that is to complicated to explain here. Gone is the three string combos from the first one. In this one you build a form, choosing stances, parries, counters and more. The attack combination is just part of the whole.

There is also more to do in this one. Assassinations, fighting several ronin or thugs at once, rescue missions and most importantly challenges from other Samurai passing through the busy capital.

All in all they've made a damn enjoyable game, which works more like a fight-sim than an actiongame.

I hope those of you who where fans of the first one get the chance to get hold of this one too. Sword of the Samurai is exactly what we where left wanting, and more, after playing it's predecessor.

Not the Best game made but it kick Ass . the fist 24 hours you play it after that its God !

Isn't WAY OF THE SAMURAI the sequel for the US people?

Other than that, i thought this game got cancelled a looooong time ago. I loved the first one. It did pretty freakin' alright for a blue disc game. (blue disc games are just as small in data storage size as a ps1 game, blech)- and for what it offered, hellzayeah! My ps2 no longer plays blue or black discs, since my ps2 is near death. I havent been able to play kengo for almost a year now. Totally *bleep*. So any news on Way of the Samurai being the sequel?

way of the samuri isnt a sequal in any way to kengo.
Way of Samuri is more of an adventure game. Kengo is strictly sword fighting and training for tournements. Only draw back to kengo i found was there is no end to the game. It is most fun if a few of your friends get it as well then you train your own fighter and battle against your buddies. I hope in Kengo 2 you get an option to fight against your "spirit form" cause i hated getting perfects in the candel training many tiems in a row for a 3 mn fight that i dominate my shadow.(At higher levels gettig perfects gets insanly hard)

If they are making Kengo 2 into a Way of the Samuri game they are gong to ruin the series. It has never been that. The series has kept with the style of sword fighting in arenas for Kengo and the two before it in the sereise(Bushido Blade and Bushido Blade 2)

oh btw kimo i think u got games mixed up..in the first kengo you dont wonder at all...strangly that sounds like way of he samuri....
