Golf: Mindnumbingly Difficult?

Does anyone else think that Golf is waaaaay too hard? I understand that they wanted to add realistic draw and fade, but it's near impossible to hit a straight shot and have any sort of power. I know the original golf wasn't realistic in that sense, but at least it was playable.

So am I just horrible at golf, or do the rest of you have issues with its difficulty as well?

I think Golf is easy It's probely because I play golf as a hobbie.

That was my 1st reaction as well, insanely difficult, however just recently, I "think" I've discovered a technique of sorts. Atleast it works for me to an acceptable degree of consistency.

I found that the swing technique that I used to excel at Wii Sports Golf (the original) doesn't work a bit for the Sports Resort version.

So I played around with fdifferent varients of a modified swing. For me anyway, (I'm right handed) I swing one handed and I try to hold the remote onmy hand so that (unlike the instruction) the main surface (with all the buttons on it, is more straight ahead (facing the sensor bar) I also swing with a right to left arc (hard to describe, but more "accross my body" akin to a "baseball swing" of sorts, not quite on the same horizonal to the ground plane as a baseball swing.

I dropped my average score from +15 or so immediately down to -2 to -4 for a round of 18 holes (I can live with that ego wise) ;-)

Can't say that its 100% fool proof but I hit reasonablly consstent straighter drives and shots in general, seems to also help me with my "touch" on swing power also.

I don't think it is hard at all once you get used to it. I shot two Hole in Ones today. That way you don't have to putt at all!

I've found that becasue mine constantly tilts, i don't swirve my body as if you do a normal gold swing. i stay in the same position as i hit the ball, facing forward, once i swirve my body it hits perfect everytime. probably posting this is no help to anyone since of how old this game is but whatevs.

I really enjoyed Wii sports golf, but after acclimating to Wii sports resort golf, the resort version is superior. I am a hack at best in real golf, but resort golf captures many realistic nuances of real golf (including its difficult and frustrating nature) and I love it. I even find myself watching the Pros play on the Golf channel as a result of my resort golf experience. It's crazy. I've finally racked up all the stamps (Ace of clubs being by far the hardest) but only after investing countless hours into playing. This to me is telling of just how great the game is…
