Never managed to get that Diablo III closed beta invite, but really wanted to try the game out before it is released on May 15? Then you better get over to Battle.net and start downloading, because Blizzard is opening to beta to all comers for this weekend only. Starting just after noon today, at 12:01 PM PST, until 10:00 AM Monday morning, everyone can log into Diablo III and smash some demons.
The beta allows access to all five classes, but will cap your progress at level 13. You'll also be limited to only the first half of Act 1, so don't worry about unexpectedly playing too much and spoiling the game for yourself. World of Warcraft fans will be pleased to know there are plenty of achievements to help keep them busy.
I played through the closed beta a couple time and then decided to wait for full launch to worry about min/maxing, loot-hunting and power leveling. That's just how amazing Diablo III is, though. It only takes a few hours before you want to forget everything else you have to do and gain one more level. Try it out, if you haven't already.
Download the client and inform yourself on the open beta: here.
