For all of the people who think they're going to make a lot of money off the auction house, it's going to be difficult. Very difficult. There's a couple of things you should know about how the auction house works.

First of all, there are the fees. Listing the item will cost you nothing. Selling items however will cost you a fee. The exact amount depends on the type of item your selling.
- Items (like weapons or armour) cost you a dollar, regardless of the price you sell it for.
- Non-items (like consumables) get charged with a 15% fee off the final selling price.

There's a few other fees to keep in mind. The other fees come into play when you want to take the money into your paypal account. When you sell an item you have a choice: the profit of the item can go towards 1) your battle.net balance or 2) your paypal account. The first option will cost you nothing, the latter however will. It'll cost you 15% on top of the other fees that you paid.

An example:
You sell an item for $20,00.
First 15% fee from the AH: $20,00 x 0,85 = $17,00
Second 15% fee from paypal: $17,00 x 0,85 = $14,45

You just lost over $5,00 dollars in this transaction. *sad panda*

Important to remember is that your choice to decide where your profit goes is final. That means that you cannot put your profit into your battle.net balance and then decide to move it onto your paypal account. Whatever is in your battle.net balance, stays in your battle.net balance.

Considering its basically free money, 30% (which isn't the exact percent, but it's close enough) is perfectly okay. I'd be fine with 50% even. Any amount of free money is better than no money at all.

ever since i heard about this feature it worried me i feel it could really hurt the game but on the flip side it could make it better god knows i had a ton of mules just holding random stuff in D2 who knows maybe now i can get 5 bucks for all of that stuff it takes MF runs to a new level (assuming there will be a form of mf runs) only thing i always hated about the diablo games was how the looting system worked, you kill boss, boss drops 2 awsome items and everyone makes a mad dash to click on the items. Seemed slightly unfair especially if you were say a long range class and the short range had a chance to grab, or when everyone stopped attacking to get close to the boss hope they fixed it and i hope this system works
