Trees begone! I think it might be a winner. Jay says hi. So now we're faced with the possibility of an entirely new skill system, or perhaps a structureless skill system. 	I really don't care which skill system Blizzard eventually settles with, I just want the ability to respec. Trees are fine in my opinion, but we'll just have to see what they come up with. Too many D2 characters dead in the water because I had no motivation to level a poorly specced class. Ruins all the fun half the time. ------------------- Knowledge is power. 	Lets just hope respecing isn't like a punishment in terms of your money. I think borderlands got it right, as its biased on your level and nothing else. But then again there is only one action skill per character in Borderlands so its much easier to justify a lower and much more painless respec. 	Question: How would you change the skill tree for Diablo 3? I can think of one way to change the skill tree to better Diablo 3. I would reset the points without a class trainer doing it for you without the money/gold to change up the point arrangements anytime in the game. I would change this because, if you mess up and put the points in the wrong skills then you have pay more money/gold to get unskilled to get points back and the price to unskill again would go up.

	I hope they don't do something stupid for the skills like leveling up/doing quests nets you a certain amount of skill points, and skills cost a certain amount. As far as respecing, the only way making it use gold would be a downfall is if they actually manage to make gold hard to come by. Lord knows that wasn't a problem in D2. -------------------

Also, personally, the newest names [...] are very much in the theme of the world and Diablo. Lethality/multistrike/power were very game-mechanic in approach, and even when they moved to viper/hydra/force they had an odd mysticism attached with them. Now they're very plainly named by interesting sounding materials. Great, very matter of fact and real in their theme, IMO. Runes still have a general theme though, you'll know that this rune usually increases damage in some way, and this other one usually decreases cost in some way, and this one is a wild-card and usually changes how the skill works in some crazy way. But we have enough freedom now that multi-strike/hydra whatever you know it as, doesn't have this defined perception that it's always going to "multi-strike". Whatever that means to each player. The as-of-now released names for the current rune models are as follows: Crimson Indigo Obsidian Golden Alabaster So all in all this game sure is shaping up to be a highly customizable experience, yet is managing to do so without eliminating the fundamental structure underneath each character. All avatars should be relatively equal to one another in scope, but these small customizations are what will really set the definite lines between good and great players, particularly in the metagame PVP. Silly me, almost forgot to mention that skill levels are capped by difficulty now. In Normal difficulty, each skill is capped at 5. Once a character ascends to Nightmare this cap increases to 10, and further on to 15 in Hell. The final skill level cap for all skills in the game is 15. ------------------- TONI RUB THAT BONEY 2012
