Hi Warhammer.
Good question. I'm not totally sure but I'd guess that as with the Dreamcast version your PLAYER name will be displayed constantly and be searchable via GUILD CARDS (explained below). Phantasy star Online uses a "Guild cards" to enable players to find each other. These guild cards are essentially Business cards that you can give to other players if you want them to be able to find you in game in the future. On the Dreamcast if you wanted to find a particular person you needed their guild card to search for them. Since Xbox live also has a search facility for Gamer tags I am presuming that this will work before you enter the game adn you'll possibly have the option to show/hide your GAMER TAG. Maybe Intergallacticvandal could correct me on this as I'm not totally up on Xbox live/GT's yet. To answer your question regarding release dates, look here... re: GENERAL QUESTIONS |
quote Shadow_NinjaYes. Think about it. Otherwise you could have 12 PSO characters, but you'd have to call them all the same name. So I think it's a fairly safe bet.

re: GENERAL QUESTIONS |
quote Chlld78 Are you asking which is the best (i.e most popular) Server to play PSO on? (these are called ships on PSO) If so then your question is a bit early as only the Japaneese Xbox servers are up at the moment and we no nothing about those yet. The US and EU ones won't be up (apart from beta test servers) until the gems is released in those regions. If, however you want to know how to get online with your Xbox, it's best to ask this question in the Xbox Live forum as it stands more of a chance of getting answered there. re: PSO Question???? |
quote bcd123PSO does have an ongoing story. As follows... A plan born of desperation, conceived in response to the imminent destruction of their home worlds. As plans for the evacuation began, unmanned probes were sent into deep space to find a habitable planet. When a potential site was discovered, the first interstellar transport ship, Pioneeer 1 was sent to establish a colony. Pioneer 1 confirmed that the Planet Ragol was a suitable location, and the inital colonists started preparing the planet for the main wave of refugees, beginning with the construction of the Central Dome. 7 years later... Pioneer 2 completed it long voyage with the main wave of reguess aboard. But as Pioneer 2 entered orbit and opened a communications link with the Central Dome, and enormous explosion shook the entire planet. All contact with the thousands of men and women of Pioneer 1 was lost. That's the story. Also as you journey deeper into the planet you find various messages left behind by Red Ring Rico (the leader of Pioneer 2's daughter) and the plot develops as the story behind each individual mission weaves itself into the main storyline.

re: GENERAL QUESTIONS |

You really have to hunt for the story though. Through you would have to do all of Ep1 quests (there are a few "sidestories" in there as well) to get all of it. I wonder if X-Box has any Ep2 quests... oh wait there exactly the same right?

re: GENERAL QUESTIONS |

ok, this is what goes on. Xbox live costs 50 bucks a year, but your first year is completely free. However, sega still wants you to pay a fee of 8.95 for a hunters license. your first 2 months, however, are free for pso. Let's look at the benefits though. You can talk with up to 7 or 8 people in the lobby.....literally talking. You use that little microphone that comes with the xbox live kit. In a game of four people you can talk to all of them. Also, if someone seriously makes you made and you wish to shut them up, you can simply mute them. The graphics are barely improved at all, the only thing they improved graphic wise is some of the special effects from magic and stuff. But still, I'm getting this baby.
OH! and as for the gamertag/guild card thing..... here's what goes on. You use the gamertags. They're EXTREMELY similar to dreamcast's and gc's guildcards, but more convenient. You can literrally give them an invitation to your game server even if they're playing a different game than you. They even appear online if you're playing a different game than them. I had something else to say....but forgot....lol.
