So why do you need to do inter-wiki inside the same wiki...? Am I missing the point here?

What you are trying to do is called Interwiki Transclusion, which tekmo supposedly enabled when he enabled Interwiki Linking. Initially, there was a problem where instead of displaying that error on the page, it would simply display exactly what you typed (the template syntax). After some conversing, tekmo realized that he hadn't enabled it properly in the Interwiki Table. Even after that fix, it still doesn't work; we haven't gotten past the error you are now experiencing. I think it could easily be something tekmo has overlooked (no offense to him) since that was an issue before, but I really don't know how much he's worked on trying to figure it out.
Anyway, as Relmutsie said, you preferences only work on a per-wiki basis, so on the Pikmin NeoWiki, you might as well specify you sig as {{User:Benedict/sig}}. Since Interwiki Transclusion doesn't work at the moment, trying to use the cross-wiki transclusion syntax on other Wikis for your sig will be ineffective. | ||
