Best Starter Pokemon

Torchic, Mudkip or Treecko
Mudkip is the cutest and quite touch when he is fully evolved but then Torchic looks and is actually very tough when he evolves to Blaziken, but Torchic looks like a chicken. What do you guys think?

The only actual problem with the Mudkip line in 3rd gen is that because all water attacks are classed as special then it kinda sucks as a water type; instead only succeeding with the physical side such as ground. That and taking hits that aren't grass type.

Blaziken is probably the best option. For one, it gives you fire and fighting in one pokemon and you're going to want both types on the team. Blaziken also has high attack in both areas and good speed. Just got to be careful because its defences are bad.

Treecko... never really like this one. Mainly because I'm not that fond of grass pokemon and, honestly, Treecko has very few options for move choices outside of normal and grass.

Physical and special moves didn't exist until Gen 4.

I agree, sceptile will be the best among the three with the false swipe when its on a great level, but for starting, mudkip will be the best since the first gym you will be battling have weakness on water...
