Should I get this? |
|
Should I get this? I havn't played any of the other PoP (though I have seen my cousin play it and it looks good) games though I have heard that they are good.
Also how hard would I find it? I don't mind if it is challenging, but I hate games that I find really hard because they get fustrating, then I give up. Just to let you know what type of gamer I am, the hardest game I have played is Jak 2. Do I need to play the other games to understand the stroy line or not? And what's the replay value? I really want to know if this game is for me, because the incident of me watching trailers and then getting the game to find out that the game is crap has happened to me too many times. | |

OK, so this is like a reinvention of the series, hasn't got anything to do with the old POP (storywise). This is my only POP too and i enjoyed it alot.
Since you prefer enjoyment over challenge, this game is DEFINITELY for you....very easy, but incredibly fun. With the odd puzzle, alot of platforming, and of course the fighting which is the funnest part. So go for it ------------------- You can take games out of my life, but you can't take my life out of games.

That's worth it IMO....and like i said above, i don't think there is any link to the past POPs.
For combat, there are 4 main attacks. Going by the PS3 controls: X - Acrobatic Square - Sword Circle - Gauntlet (clawed glove type thing) Triangle - Magic (from Elika, your sidekick/the princess) You can chain combos up to deal more damage, for example square square square circle triangle square circle That would do a sword combo followed by a throw, then magicking them and another slash, then throwing them away. You can get a combo up to 14 hits. R1 is block/deflect (block, but if you press it right as an enemy attacks it deflects, so you can counter attack). The combos look fantastic, and there are also QTE for when you're on the floor, or pushed to a wall or you push an enemy to a wall. It's very fun and doesn't get old for quite a while. ------------------- You can take games out of my life, but you can't take my life out of games.

The story's great (IMO), and the dialogue is quite funny....nice depth to the characters.
