	Wiki Pages Magikarp Log in to remove this sponsored message does anyone know any glitches on Ss/Pt/D/P that can help get me a shiny magikarp without ar or trading. open to other suggestions of getting one. also, is it true that if you breed a shiny female gyarados and a shiny male gyarados there is more chance of getting a shiny magikarp out of the egg? because me and my friend have heartgold and soulsilver and i caught a female and he caught a male. it would be really cool if it was true. -Mattyisbest3 ------------------- I'M THE BEST, AROUND! 	If you want a shiny Magikarp you could use the Masuda Method, by breeding a foreign Pokemon with another eg. a Japanese Gyarados and an English Ditto. You have a better chance of getting a shiny Magikarp that way. You can get a German Magikarp from the Meister on Route 226, so evolve it and breed with another Pokemon in Gyarados' egg group. 	Here is something from Bulbapedia on the Masuda Method: "It will not work if both Pokémon are from the same foreign language, even if it is a different language from the game; or if the player uses one of his or her own Pokémon and the Meister's Magikarp or Lt. Surge's Pikachu, which are obtained through in-game trades. This is because these Pokémon have been generated on the same game as the player's Pokémon. A Pokémon which is traded to a foreign game while still in its egg, even if it is hatched and nicknamed in a foreign language, will also retain the internal marking which registers it as having been generated in the game of the original language. 	Well, it's not impossible to get a shiny. I really thought that the Meister's Magikarp would work, but I guess I was wrong. I thought it promoted the idea of the Masuda Method. 	Here is a step-by-step guide by my knowlege: 1) Make sure you revived the Power Plant 2) Go catch Zapdos 3) Go outside the powerplant before 10am any day and talk to Lt Surge 4) He'll tell you to get a Pikachu from Viridian Forest. Go get one 5) Show it to him 6) Go to the Magnet Train building in Saffron City 7) Talk to him and give him the Pikachu from Viridian Forest 8) You'll have the Pikachu That's basically on what I can remember. ------------------- Header and Footer Contest
