That's like saying "Sure, I robbed a bank, but I say I didn't do anything wrong, so I didn't". Give some thought to your posts first. What one may think as 'petty', another may take it seriously. If it's just some sick joke between friends, keep it to PM where you don't have to taint the public with it. Also, from what I've collected, General Discussions are made for (although sometimes not upkept with) friendly discussion, not dirty gossip. Also, spam was not a friendly addition either. And thridly, one might need to earn respect NORMALLY, but it's common sense and just common courtesy to show respect to your superiors. He has power, you don't. That's life. Besides, he respected you, why not return the favor? I'm not saying you have to be a buttkiss with him, just show him the due respect that he deserves. I don't rule your lives. And I don't care how you use them, or waste them. But sometimes I wonder if you people and many others ever have any boundaries. Can't we all just stop arguing, stop picking on one another and be friends? Aside form the occasional passerby and the rare ones that stay, it's mostly all the same people here and we've survived just fine without any clans, and I'm pretty sure that some people here are already in a clan elsewhere, be it Diamond or Pearl. Besides, HG/SS is where it's at, not here. So yes, it's way past late for Platinum. 	The point is that Diamond and Pearl both have clans. If you want to have a clan, go there. Platinum wasn't given clans because we felt it was pointless for three games from the same generation to have clans when there were already two and people could just as easily go there where rules and traditions are already established. Further, it's been proven before that clans simply do not work within the Pokemon community. The administration has even frowned upon the idea of new clans forums being made for Pokemon and all four fourth gen Pokemon moderators are vehemently against the idea after how things have been handled by the community in the past. The rules were set in place. We tried to enforce them. People just refused to listen. Now because of the actions of a select group of the overall membership, clans forums will not be brought into any new Pokemon forum. Now, please, let's drop the whole thing. Having the same debate in two forums is pointless when the answer is never going to change. There will be no clans for Platinum, Heart Gold, or Soul Silver. -------------------

Quierta is the first mod that I have seen who has actually tried to do ANYTHING for the clans forum. Maybe if you had other Mods from the beginning who tried and had strict rules, they would have worked. The problem is you guys seem to be very one-sided and closed minded. Just because of crap modding in the Diamond/Pearl forum doesnt mean it will or has to happen again. I always point back to the SSBB crews. Sure the age group is slightly different, but if it had the same modding and rules the diamond forums have had, it would simply have been just as big of a nightmare. Simple fact. 	Maybe if the community had listened in the first place there wouldn't be a need for such strict rules. There were mods with rules in the beginning that were enforcing them. They just gave up because people like you were refusing to listen, just like now. You've only seen how things work from the member's side. I've put up with many different mods over the last three years clans have been in place, which is longer than you've even been a member, complaining about various things about the clans forums and I've even had to deal with some of the things personally, so I know what it's like from both sides of the spectrum. The "crap modding" should really be changed to "crap community." People have tried time and again to get people to listen to reason and follow the rules but certain people refused to do so and the rest of the forum followed suit. If you guys want clans so bad, fix your community first and then we may revisit this in the future. There's only so much we can do as mods short of banning everyone in the forums. The rest is up to you guys. To try and place the blame all on the mods when there's equal fault is more unfair considering there's only a handful of us compared to tons of you guys. Besides, SSBB appeals to a completely different audience than Pokemon. Using that as an example doesn't add any credibility to your position considering there are two completely different ways in which the communities work, which in turn means there are two completely different moderating styles. -------------------

About half of the current Clans forum regulars are also participants in the crews forum. The communities are only slightly different, not completely. I will concede though that I meant to include the community in all of this, but I already stated, They did have strict modding in the beginning. The community felt they could do as they pleased, the mods rarely steeped in to do anything, thus they feel it as the norm.
