Shen Gaoren - Sudden Change?

Ok, I have the complete Rathian armour set and the Titernia Greatsword.

I managed to make all his legs bright red, and made him collapse twice, once he recovered quickly, the second time he took a while to recover.

Problem is, when he recovered for the second time, all his legs returned to their normal colour with no red. I have less than 5 minutes left, I'm not sure what to do at this point?

Don't GS with Gaoren, LS it, keep slashing the leg, it will die, what level of Gaoren? And what HR are you?

The leg's resetting is normal. Once you've gotten passed a certain damage cap on the legs it will happen. You can just repeat the process by continuing to attack the legs, chances are it will flee before it gets to destroy the fortress. It may die if you are aggressive enough within those 5 minutes.
