	Honestly, reading the books before watching the movie cheapens the experience in my opinion. With a series like a Song of Fire and Ice, where there's a lot of tension and political intrigue, knowing what's going to happen to who and the outcome for every situations really defuses that tension. This is applicable to any adaptation in my experience. Like, seeing Harry Potter fall off his broom in the third movie as he's attacked by Dementors has no weight or scare value because you've already read the books and know that Dumbledore just uses a spell to save him.

	If anybody genuinely believes that reading is bad because it ruins the movie, then they should be exterminated. Most films cater to both old fans and newcomers, so there will always be discrepancy. I would suggest that 'The Hobbit' only warrants two films though; it is a far lesser base than LOTR in terms of source material. I'll wait and see though, it could manage it in terms of inclusion as opposed to fans hating exclusion in the LOTR films. Tom Bombadil, where art thou? -------------------

	I didn't say reading was bad, but people who insist that you need to read the books before watching the movie are annoying. You don't gain any inherent advantage or enhancement for the movie by reading its source material. Those discrepancies then become the topic of fans of the book to whine and complain that they didn't make the movie right, even when those changes are better for the story than the book's version. Looking at you, Watchmen. And there are never major discrepancies in regards to plot, you are never going to have a version of the book onscreen where Neddard Stark doesn't die. By knowing that what was going to happen in that scene, almost all of that tension, and the shock by the subversion of expectations, is negated.

	I have been sold on the South Park game since finding out that 'Jew' is a playable class, and that they got away with calling Cartman 'Grand Wizard' (look it up if you don't know your history!). Also, it is being produced by Obsidian so it should have a good depth and a morale system similar to KOTOR2. I just hope the soundtrack is full of episode reference and some of the memorable tunes from the show. It's been on my radar as long as Corpse Party: Book of Shadows, and at this rate I'm not sure which I will get to play first. Let's pray that the demise of THQ doesn't lead to this game being rushed or canned. -------------------
