Sadly, your true love has left you for another type of man. A man less dedicated and more casual, not willing to put much work into it. Love can work in strange ways. There is hope as there's plenty more fish in the sea.

Every gamefaqs console board bascially agrees with this. Touchscreens can add a new idea, but buttons take priority. I'm kinda leaning towards buttons, but I don't really mind a touchscreen being used for stuff like looking over maps and placing locations, drawing plays for sports games, or selecting items in your inventory. However placing it into a gimmick thing like rowing a canoe, melee attacks, or climbing is not needed or desired.

I have NO console loyalty. I just absolutely hate the controls and game selection of the Wii, nor am I interested in anything on the DS. Buying a PSP was hard enough when all I wanted it for was MHFU. I'm kind of tired of buying a game system just to keep playing a series I like. I liked that Xbox kept Halo the entire time. -.- I would've been pissed if I had to go buy a PS3 for Halo 3 or something asinine like that. What makes a series feel like a series, is me not having to deviate from my normal console-curve (Example: Buying a Playstation 1, then a PS2, then a PS3...) to play a series I love. What the hell kind of curve involves Monster Hunter generally being only on the Playstation 2 and the PSP, then shooting over to Nintendo systems. That's not a curve. That's a U-turn.

I don't even like playing on consoles. I'm a PC gamer generally. I tend to never play on consoles as long as I can help it. But in the case of Disgaea and Monster Hunter, I had to give in a little. -_- I don't think I will ever buy a Nintendo console. New Monster Hunter title or not. I loved their older systems, they were my favorite systems ever. But I have completely loathed the Wii ever since its release.

If I were to analyze my frustration from a psychological standpoint, it's most likely because I'm a poor college student who owns all the systems EXCEPT for a DS and Wii, and does not want to buy a system he doesn't even like.

Now that I'm over the shock of Capcom localizing a Monster Hunter game,, I kinda agree with both Xeros the Slayer and Hanners. It's nice when a series can remain on it's own console for a while and not have to move exclusiveley to another console. The PS3 boards on Gfaqs are an example of the amount of rage going on over Bayonetta 2 being exclusive to the Wii U. It alienates people who have followed a series.

In Nintendo's case though, the short explanantion is that they are doing things different this time and it seems like they'll deliver a great console. I've always been a fan of their first party titles so I guess I'm a little biased.


Then again, time will tell on whether the gaming companies can actually hold their promises and status for fans for the next generation. Hanners you can always wait to see the outcome and choose the console you like. A few games doesn't have to define your love of a system

Exactly what I intend to do. Swallow my sadness and wait, I'll just play Binding of Isaac for another few years until MH is released on something I can play it on.

Definitely the smart way to shop in these cases. The MH case works for me since I own a 3DS, but I was pressured to buy it from peers near its launch. The long drought of games that lasted for months was almost unbearable, and the release times even now are a bit long. I'm glad I didn't sell it so at least I can play this new MH.

A success story was with my psp. Before MH, I didn't see a lot of games I liked for the system. After MH though (and its replicas Gods Eater Burst and Lord of Arcana), I became interested in JRPGs. With more than 4 years passed from the original psp launch, I had a treasure chest of JRPGs to go through. I still do, and hopefully I can finish them before March 2013. Waiting sure as hell paid off.
