Not a fan of Heavy Rain myself, but I applaud what it was trying to do.

I think video games should try telling stories with the unique vocabulary of video games. Instead of trying to be movies, they should do things that involve the player directly. Heavy Rain had parts where you're forced to do some really hard things, like that scene where you saw shit off, and there are choices to be made, and these things are *bleep*ing great. Eliciting this kind of emotional duress directly from the player by forcing them to do something, under a time limit no doubt, is exactly the kind of stuff I'd like to see more of.

Scream 4 was a joke, they should have left it at 3, and not even. No way could that psychotic woman survive getting hit with that many volts to the head, and even if it is possible surely she'd have some sort of brain damage.

Also hi bro. Sackboy finally got his trailer debut earlier today for Allstars. And folks who made LBP are making a vita title called Tearaway that looks amazing.

Pretty much my highlights of gamescon so far along with the other vita title Puppeteer.

I was never much of a scream fan.

Jumping on the story discussion, I like when games tell the story in more indirect manners, it's not something you can really do as well with a book or a movie. So it is something that feels unique to the medium.

Dark Souls is probably the best, most recent example of this. You get a completely different narrative if you were to look at item, spell, and equipment descriptions than if you were to just take it at the face value of what you're told by Frampt and Gwinevere. It also does so much for understanding the world that you're in and I love world building.

Wow.

I finished Dragons Dogma. I expected it at the beginning, and even towards the end to just be 'kill the dragon save the day'. But wow, the story was much deeper than that. I mean it wasn't insanely philosophical or something but it has a pretty interesting world. The Boss monologues in the game were cool as *bleep*.

It really is. I nearly shat myself as I realized that had just happened, and my mind was completely blown.
