afraid off tigrex

As the tittle says, i am soo afraid of this guy;(. I dont have any problem with other monsters including elder dragon like the annoying theo and luna:P but i am afraid of this guy. Any help??

also, use a thunder. failing that, use the next best weapon you have. if youre having trouble with melee, try using bows or bowgun. upgrade all your armor so you can take a few hits.

learn how tigrex moves. once you learn how it moves, youll know how to dodge him, as well as know when to hit him. keep up the pressure, though, so the quest doesnt take to long. one good opening when he jumps. after the second jump he tends to pause for a few seconds.

also, use flashbombs when hes in rage mode. hell still move around a lot, but at least he wont be aiming at you.
traps are good as well, so make sure to bring those and whatever you need to make more.

Trust me, you're better off fighting Tigrex without flashbangs. You can use them ofc to try and escape or if he has you in a tight spot you can run like hell or heal up a bit etc, but don't use it to attack him. Learn his movements and look for openings that you can use to attack him.

What's your favorite weapon type? If I knew that I might be able to give you some more useful advice and tactics.

If you try using lance or Gunlance, try using armour with Guard+2 and or bring power/megajuice. that will help with the stamina problem

Then I would recommend GS.

Before I learned how to fight Tigrex with GS I used lances and it took me forever (only ever used lance for Tigrex). You just turtle up and stab his face whenever you can. It's an easy/safe tactic but takes a long time (if you're really good with lances you can ofc do it fast).

With a GS however the tactic is also fairly easy and you really just destroy him really quickly and it's easy to break/cut off everything. I recommend you watch this vid

with nice timing in GS, at least I know I can clear most quests with no potions.

2nd slicing off a tail paticurlarly Diablos for some reason but any tail will do!

1st...landing a triple GS charge on a charging tigrex.

gotta do this in the desert when its charging from way off but that is such a good feeling cos penalty for failure is massive but the ego boost is sweet. like staring virtual death in the eye and saying NO.

To the OP. get the highest raw GS you can and the best armour and then just practice the triple charge til you get it right. Take plenty of potions and always leave the area when you need to sharpen sword etc. I always like to lop off is tail first before i try triple charging but thats just me. makes it easier to avoid the tail spin.

Oh yeah, the cardinal rule with Tigrex when you are learning to fight it. Don't get greedy and don't try and touch him when he is in rage mode just barrel roll and superman jump until he calms down and then keep triple chaging until he limps. Then trap and tranq.
