High Rank Armor Set Help...!

to be honest farming for that set just isnt worth it, you would have to capture 20+ rathlos unless you lucky. but if you want some help. i would reccomend (if you havent done this already) do the felyne elder quests and make armour from those monsters then either make kirin,monoblos or a set with good stats

You can either do tail runs or break everything off him.

Option A is that you run in, cut his tail off, carve the tail and if there isn't a ruby quit the mision and restart. If there is a ruby either die 3 times or kill the rathalos.

Option B is that you cut the tail off (and carve it), break the head (since that increases ruby chance) and capture rathalos (which also increases the chance).

I've always found option B the best, it might take longer to get the ruby but in the meanwhile you get loads of stuff you can sell and make tons of money. I had to farm over 50 nargacugas to get the hvnlies I needed and by selling the stuff I didn't need I made about a million Z.

No, it is not worth it to use ruby on the armor, especially at high rank. Unless this is your 2nd acount and you want it for your collection. Getting ruby at G-rank is also painfull. You also will need at least 1 for your end game weapon. And that will be worth it, because those weapon are really nice.

The armor is nice, but not superior or make you say wow. You can get other armor about the same level without using extreme rare item.

Here's why I think it's better than Rathalos Soul U in your case.

1. HGE isn't necessary when your GS can block roars. Also, you won't miss out a lot on the amount of damage you could've done with HGE.

2. Gemming in RA+ will increase the negative skill of health, which may or may not matter to you.

3. The rubies can be placed into weaponry, and IMO weapons should get priority.

4. It's way easier to farm Ceantaur IMO. (Yes, even with a GS)

5. Ceantaur S gives Sharp+1, so farming for narga weapons (Narga GS in your case) equals higher damage.

6. RA+ isn't really that great of a skill for GS. Especially when you can now farm for Sword Draw Jewels. With one weapon slot, you can get AoU, a really spectacular skill for GS.

Don't get me wrong, Rath Soul U is a great general armor set, but I'm leaning more towards Ceantaur S.

I have to agree with Sly it's not worth it just to get rathalos armor
