What's the best early bowgun to use to kill Yiut Kut Ku?

I have currently the bowgun that has Rapid Fire of Freeze S. I thought Rapid Fire was supposed to shoot multimple shots?

Anyway Since the first Yiut Kut Ku quest is in Village Elder Star 1 or 2 and in the Jungle area that should be good since there are ledges to get up to in certain areas.

Is Frost/Ice the only strong ammo to use against Kut Kut or can I use some other type of ammo?>

Rapid fire 3 Ice Shots does LESS DAMAGE OVER TIME.
It just saves ammo. Each hit of rapid fire bullet is knocked down to 60% damage.

In the time you rapid fire a burst of 3 (60%+60%+60%)
you could have shot normally 2 (100%+100%)

In that space of time, rapid fire does 180% and normal shooting does 200%.

While rapid fire saves ammo, as time goes on, you're doing less damage than shooting normally.

Exceptions are things like the cat gun that shoots 5 flame shot in burst rapid fire. Generally you need to shoot more than 4 bullets in burst for rapid fire to do more damage.

Water S is good, as is Normal S 2 on the head. Water and Ice S have a piercing effect so make sure to shoot them down his head and along his neck and body, or across and through the wings.

Crag shot is very good. It stuns it (just like a sonic bomb does) and gives you a good opening to attack it. You should use that time to shoot it's head. It will usually drop a shiny object, usually Wyvern Tears. Kut-Ku can be a challenge the first time, I'll admit. After you learn its attacks you can cut them down like Giaprey. I'm not much of a bow/bowgun user but if I had to recomend one I would use one that is capable of firing ice/water/crag. Good luck.
