Okay. I just upgraded my darkness darkblade(1120 raw damage,purple sharpness) and I also got master blaze,(1440 raw damage,white sharpness) I've included the artisan skill. Does darkness do more damage because it's sharper?

no sharpness does not have anything to do with damage. The only things sharpness effect is if you bounce or not and if you get bonus affinity using reckless abandon. So you are right master blaze is better.

well I think if you bounce you do not do as much damage but otherwise sharpness does not have to do with damage.

Sharpness gives a % bonus in damage.
For example, a gs with 1008 atk and green sharpness does less damage than a gs with 960 atk and blue sharpness. So the sharper the weapon, the more damage you do. Purple sharpness gives the best atk bonus. -------------------  A cookie a day, keeps a Tigrex happy | |

all elite hunters should know this
sharpness affects damage purple- damage is multiplied by 1.5 white- damage is multiplied by 1.3 blue- damage is multiplied by 1.15 green- damage is not multiplied yellow and less deal negative power oh and master blaze is stronger -------------------

I Believe the Long Katana's are a much better weapon for biggeners and for veterans, they always have good sharpness, power and your alot more nimble and quick with dodging and striking techniques.
There a pain in the bum too upgrade though, just because they require so many high rank materials.....  | |
