As for me, I'm counting till 4 in my mind when the music stops and mostly it appears that I'm hitting X the exact moment when the exclamation mark pops up. Also I've heard that petting your pig before quest makes your reward bigger, I mean items that you'll obtain after it. Is it really so? I think yes.

It can't be proven, but someone asked a question like that on capcom website. They said the pig was meant to practice fishing and cooking, but I'm not so sure.......Capcom people are pretty active there, and nice.

Well, I've made a little research here to finaly decide for myself, does petting your pig before a quest affects the total number of items that you'll get as a reward. I hoped that was shure thing. But 30 innocent velocidromes was violently slaughtered in the name of science and the results are frustrating. But first things first. For my experiment I've completed the 2 star village elder quest "Hunt Down the Velocidrome!" 30 times. 10 times when I got a big heart for petting my piggie, 10 times when I got a small one, and 10 times without petting it. Then I summed the number of items I managed to obtain whithin each of these three sessions and the results are:
Big heart - 138 items Small heart - 120 items No petting -148 items I've no comments on that one. Maybe that pretty piggie is useless after all. Sad. ------------------- Nya? =^.^=

Big Heart got me a KutKu Ear in a Shinny Drop and just Wyvern Tears with Small and None, so it has some Effect at least

Thats the matter of chance I guess. The Velocidrome head is a rare carve, but I got it 1 time (of 10 quests) whith big heart and 3 times (10 quests) whithout petting. Or you think that affects only shining drops?

i think only Shiny Drops, a managed to get 3 VDrome Heads...Twice, in Dual VDromes once with Big once with None, so i think its no Effect in Cares and Rewards

Then I got to make Kut-Ku drop somethig to check this. Hope that works. ^.^
Nope, that won't work, I've just made 5 Kut-Ku drop their shiny objects (big heart) and everything I got is 2 scales, 3 tears and 2 didn't drop anything. No ears. I think its done, pig is useless. Any thoughts? This message was edited by Ryoko on Nov 14 2009. ------------------- Nya? =^.^=

Wrong, you can't test something like this just by doing 30 runs. Because luck doesn't happen a certain number of times, so you can't just do 30 runs and say that the pig doesn't help. Same as you vespoid
THE PIG DOES NOT HELP AT ALL. It's all in your head, Capcom said so. ------------------- ![]() MHFU- Runescape- AC2- Modern Warfare 2- Darksiders- Kingdom Hearts 358/2-

Blade_Runner, but I wrote down every drop, every carve and all reward items that I got through those 30 quests. And I can tell for shure - there is no difference. If my luck as a reward for petting pig won't pop up even in 10 quests session so what's the point? I'll agree whith Capcom on that one.
