im not sure what the name of this mission is as i havent played for a while but its the one where your sent to fight a garuga at night in the forest and hills area, i saw him and at first thought "a garuga . . . shouldnt be too hard" then it turned around to show me it was missing part of a beak and ear(s) i used a black katana mkIII with Hermy S armour non gemmed since i had it made then ran off to do this misson, now the quesstions begin . . .

1) My weapon is bouncing off it and its white sharpness occasionally getting the odd hit on this beast is this normal

2) it raped me while digging into the ground with its beak(?)

3) is it in a permanent state of rage or is it just my bad luck?

any advice on what to use/how to kill it?

That's the "Lone Black Wolf" Garuga, he's a bit stronger than the usual but that's about it. Think of him like an alternate color type.

He may also dodge traps more, pitfalls anyway.

Same strategies as you'd use on a normal one should work, but you have to keep in mind that he's tougher.

Go for the face and tail tip, those are his weak spots.

i'll keep that in mind, another question i have is are there any element/status this one is weak to? i cant really check on other sites cos im in work at the mo

I think water was his weakness.

I'd go with my strongest raw. He's weak to water, but i just go with my highest raw. Specially if you're going to melee him.

I had trouble with this quest, but heres how to pass it easily. Get a HH or a hammer, and aim for the head. Simple as that. The head means

1.Weak point (probably)

2. No bounces

3. KO

Get a raw hammmer like diablos chaos, and hammer away.

When I check his armor, he has no elemental weakneses. Dunno where they get water from.
Even if I use water attribte, I still tend to bounce alot, even with purple sharpness. Cept for the head, legs, wings and tail tip.

Oh! That's why everyone says he's weak to water lol.

Basicly, that's not the only reason why people think it. People think that shoots firebeams or fireballs is weak to water.

So I'm supposing Fatalis is weakest to water?

I think the black one one does, and the crimson fires fireballs.

Don't know about the white one though.

Fatalis does NOT hurl fireballs but instead hurls METEORS, why do you think they glow white =/ (off topic)
Garuga in Unite has NO weakness so use raw and get armor with basic earplug and keep it blind with flashies, aim for the tail first than the head, he's very fond of the hated "insta charge" of course so careful of counter attacks
my cousin took the high lvl one out in 25 min with TDS and kirin S and try to get tranq guru also
