Felyne Khezu - Old Jungle Lightning

I've beaten this Khezu a few times, but it's still one of the most difficult monsters to deal with due to it's insanely high HP and heavy damage. Partly it's my fault as I still insist on wearing Tigrex armor as the Old Jungle is difficult to navigate without a map. Now, the reason I'm fighting this monster is because I'm in dire need of a Khezu Choice steak (wants True Devil Slicer for the Dual Monoblos Urgent). However, I'm not fast enough to get around behind him when I trip him, and he gets up when I finally get around there.

I'm thinking of taking a bow to him, as I'd be able to scar up his head and back easily enough, but I'm very inexperienced with bows and other projectile weapons due to primarily using melee weapons. Can you recommend me a good, powerful bow/bowgun that will deal with the Felyne's Khezu easily? I can get Gypceros S or U bow armor if needed, as they're much easier to deal with than Khezu.

P.S: Please don't recommend insane weapons that I won't be able to make for ages. I'm only HR3 and just up to the Dual Monoblos urgent.

The only way to get good at a weapon is to start using it.

The only used a LS the whole game, but I came to a monster I could never beat, so I made a gun and armor as I thought it might make it easier. After I learned how to use the weapon properly I was able to kill it and now use the gun more than a LS.

Practice and you'll learn how to use it.

i usually bowgun certain monsters, others i take a LS.

Khezu is one of those (along with plessy) that i use bowguns for.

Sandfall+ is easy to make, and with a long barrel, full modified attack and a powercharm and powertalon its got over 300 attack easy. aswell as shooting every element except ice shots, its a good gun. not forgetting its rapid fire of normal S 2.

For armour i tend to use Herm S, upgraded as much as possible and gemmed correctly you'll have +40 defence. it'll come in handy as your defence will reach 300 if you upgrade it enough. (mine for hard armour shperes in the farm)

other than that....use the Herm S armour with the power bowI or anything with extra defence.

I used the sadfall+ to get past the Dual Monoblos urgent btw.

if you use em abit more in the training school (there's one training monster where the armour set is the sandfall+) and instead of pressing the R button to get the crosshair.....hold R, a crosshear appears whilst your in third person mode, much easier to aim and evade.

Dual monoblos was a real pain...died twice and started trying to kill the white one first. the other one just left me too it most of the time....but when they both appear in the same area it was a dodge and shoot tactic.

Lol... I also use a long sword but for the khezu I used a hunting horn(War Bongo) and full Rathalos Soul U Because it has HGE and RA+1 just jewel it to remove the health -10 and when you play the hunting horn your atk increases I also had power charm and talon so my atk was 1454 i think and defeated him easily. take power seeds and pills if you need more atk.

Hbg with a decent fire bullet capacity

I use centenarian dagger on this beast.Done in 25 minutes because is hard.
