cut the tail, carve the tail and capture it. makes chances of getting it slightly higher.

so you can actually NOT get the tail even if you cut it off and capture the pucker?!? I'm really annoyed as I beat the beast to death (well to sleep) - broke his head, cut off his tail, carved his tail, and then captured him... NO TAIL! NO SKULL! This was the guild urgent quest 'Absolute Power'.

Do you need to carve the tail then pick it up or something? (such as Garuga tail) because i couldn't do anything more to it after carving it...

I'm dreading farming Tigrex as it was such an effort... can you get tail from the Village Elder quest 'Absolute Power' - don't fancy the guild quest Tigrex as I solo and am still a noob...

U were just unlucky just keep trying but i never had problems with tails or skull shell i got both of them without capturing just keep trying

Guess where to get it, its the Carve your most likely to get with a Tail Cut (80%) you get a Tigrex Scale 20% of the Time...gawd, people are so *bleep*ing Stupid, isnt it obvious where to get the *bleep*ing things?? it isnt exactly Rocket Science

erm... in case you didn't see my original post the whole problem was that i did cut the tail and i still didn't get the tail - next time don't be so *bleep*ing stupid.

2 more questions:

1. is it less likely to get the tail in the village quest 'Absolute Power' than the guild quest of the same title?

2. is it possible to get the tail without actually cutting the tail off (as I tend to concentrate beating the head to death - I have been farming the village tigrex and now got ample skulls)?

the Percentages are the exact same until Hi-Rank (Nekoht/Hr4-6) of which i dont know, although it is possible to get the Tails from ANY and EVERY Tail Cut

I've gotten tails in rewards before, but never without cutting the prey's tail off.

Dear me, more and more people are replying at the wrong places these days.

if you go on the monster hunter wiki,type in tigrex carves it tells you what you can get and how rare it can be.tigrex tail is 80% of getting it.
