I think to increase activity, we first have to look at where the game is now. It's recently come out of sleeper hit status in the US and EU. We know that from the MH3 launch coming to both areas in 2010. We also know it's more available than MHF2 was, so there is less hunting for a copy. Has it passed its peak? Yes. Has it reached the end of its cycle? No. Despite Frontier being accessible to anyone outside of Korea, most of the MH fan base will be playing MHFU prior to the release of MH3. The one solution I see is to advertise not only the forum but the game as something a beginner to gaming or the genre can grasp easily, or can work through difficulty with suficient rewards. Reward obedience of forum rules with kindness and shared knowledge, and punish consecutive abuse of said rules with straightforward and non-sugar coated truths such as, "You need to read the damned rules."

or we could organize people and where they are in the world adding interest in chatting.

I think there are forums that have done that, but we don't have the kind of activity to do that.

We know that much. When is machi getting back? I'm sure the raffle and awards will help the ppd. Maybe we can open up the raffle to other forums on neoseeker also it will introduce a lot of people to the game and give a quick spark activity.

One of the reason why so few people are interested in MH is that you actually need to be good at the game in order to proceed at all. Most other games you can just modify the difficulty, or keep farming lower level enemies until you get insanely overpowered attacks. So unless if Capcom does something about it, people won't get interested in the game. I doubt releasing MH3 will fix the situation - it's just as damn hard even at the very beginning of the game.

I swear if they decrease the difficulty again I will be so pissed especially with how overpowered slash axes seem, (only reason why gunlances are more overpowered is blocking but also they seem to take a bit more skill than the slash axe).

From what I've seen and experienced, the swear filter has been here a LONG time.
