	Wiki Pages Traits Log in to remove this sponsored message How would you like a completely optional choice to start a game in the next Sims game with no traits? I think it would be very interesting if traits evolved over time depending on your Sim's actions in game. The most basic instance would be that, in the Sims world, your Sim will develop the 'Evil' trait if he/she is consistently horrible to other Sims and regularly donates to undermine Oxfam, donates to apartheid, etc. I'm sure you can imagine how your Sim would develop the neat, party animal or workaholic traits. There are more problematic ones such as the Vehicle Enthusiast and Great Kisser traits, but I'm sure something could be figured out. Discuss.

	Hmm. An interesting idea but personally I don't think I'd use it, mainly because what most people do with their Sims is determined by the Sim's wishes; and without traits those wishes wouldn't appear in the first place. And if you wanted to dictate the Sim's life so they "evolved" into the traits you wanted them to evolve into I think it would be a little pointless because you could just as easily pick them right at the start of the game. I think what could work well is your idea but with traits changing over time rather than simply appearing. Using your example of an Evil Sim, if they were actually quite nice and didn't undermine charities and didn't work in the Criminal careers, maybe eventually the Evil trait would change to something else, like, I dunno, Bookworm if they read a lot. ------------------- ask.fm

	I think it would be good if you could evolve the traits that you choose, sorta like a skill tree and there's different bonuses you can pick at certain points, like when you get to a point in a career and you have to choose one ------------------- This is what you use to sign-off your messages. 	I think it would be very difficult for this to be the case because how an Earth would a Sim with no personality act before they acquired any traits? What I really want to see is a more elaborate personality system, though I understand that this is difficult because it is impossible to simulate human behaviour due to how complex it is. How about evolving abilities instead? You can buy abilities with your lifetime points but how about instead of having to do this, Sims acquire the ability. For example, if they read a lot, they would earn the ability to read quickly etc. Lifetime points could be used to buy similar things to the things you could get in The Sims 2 such as the timeglass which extends your Sim's life. ------------------- Help revive The Sims 3 forum here!

	I like Tay's idea of the evolving abilities, and I think they could come in useful. Like, someone who wrote a lot of books could write faster, and someone who painted a lot would paint faster, etc, sort of like the skill challenges already in the game but they'd build up slowly over time rather than suddenly appearing. ------------------- ask.fm

	But if they developed slowly over time then you wouldn't notice the difference and you would feel you aren't getting the full benefit. 	Neon Rainbow, that's exactly what I'm talking about. You could have a gradual change like what has been suggested but with skills rather than personality. Typically speaking, by adulthood, I'd imagine most people have developed their personalities so I find it quite realistic that Sims gain traits as they age as that's when people begin to learn who they are; as they grow up. TheBeardedMan, isn't it more realistic that way though? I don't personally learn or develop things so suddenly or right away. You could definitely notice the change if you looked in the logs and realised your Sim was writing more books more quickly. They could even have a new stat such as 'writing pace- 130 words per minute' and so on. I love the stats in game because it's so fun to watch my Sim do well. 	I know what you mean about watching Sims do well, I like to see them kick virtual ass and be epic masters of stuff. By the end of a Sim's life they usually have several skills mastered if I've been playing them. ------------------- ask.fm
