If a video would be too time consuming, it may be much easier to just upload the more interesting pictures of more significant events and then that way it's better for everybody.

This, basically. Whatever is easier for you. Just an idea if you go the video route, for evictions, could you record those in a video format while dramatic music plays in the background? If I remember correctly, The Sims 2 had a video recording option, so I would assume TS3 would have it.

Also, my iPod sucks at loading pictures. I'll comment on the characters later.

My Sim just needs a giant fake bum to match her fake boobs and a stupid hair colour and she'd be pretty much a Nicki Minaj lookalike.

No offense to any fans but you must admit, she's not the most real looking woman.

Oh no, I just designed a random Sim and tried to think of the funniest characteristics as I could. She doesn't look anything like her namesake Soda either who is not a black woman with a massive rack and is instead a gorgeous young man with very good taste in lipstick. We made the Sim together for a laugh.
