	Log in to remove this sponsored message Today, while my family was loading, I got a message saying: "A serious error has occurred while loading 'Sunset Valley.sims3'. It is strongly recommended that you restart the application." I restarted the application twice before restarting the computer and I restarted the game again after restarting the computer - the error still occurres! Why? What's the error? How do I fix it? 	Have you tried this: "Find the sims 3 saves folder usually in Documents/Electronic Arts/ The Sims 3/ Saves. Find the most recent sims3file. Then find the one that is a sims3.backup file. Change the name of the most recent one to Sunset Valley.sims3.bad and then rename the backup to Sunset Valley.sims3 (no period after sims3). Then whenever you play the game make sure to use "save as" (just number them, 1, 2, 3 etc) instead of save and be sure to save often. Mine crashes too (I have soft crashes, just to the desktop) but I can usually go back to my last save backup with no problem." Just to be clear, this was a tip from a another person, not me. If this still doesn't work, then you'll probably have to do a clean install, like Megan suggested. Do you have any mods or CC installed? ------------------- Yo mama!

	Just so you know, when you uninstall your game, the game asks you if you want to keep your saved families/neighborhoods. Or it did for me when I reinstalled the game.

Do you have any mods or CC installed? i did this, and it deleated my game, like when i get on sims 3 my file isnt there anymore, its not an excisting town. How do i open my backup file and play it ?

	I had the same problem so I tried doing the rename the files thing and when I went into the game again, my family had a blank house on it. It said 'Cannot load save game. It may have been saved with expansion pack data that is no longer present on this system.' Is there any way to fix it? Please help me. That's my favorite family.

	"a serious loading error occured" blank template for family and house, still showing name and everything. but when i click it, it gives me the error. i should have used multiple saves, but i didnt. i had to restart my computer multiple times yesterday with using only the power button, not the regular shutdown because my display wasnt working. when it came back, i noticed a couple of my most recent files missing and i immediately started to worry about my sims save file and my worst expectations came true. please help, i've put too much time into this family and if i cant get them back, i'll probably stop playing out of frustration.

	The same thing happened to me and i've never used cheats. I tried deleting my main save and using the backup data but it just deleted my family. So I made a new one and every time I save and quit and go back on the error occurs and I have to make a new family.

	This has happened to me twice, and it was because when it was saving, my computer just suddenly turned off when it was done.

	Hey. I've been having the same problem. When I try to load my fave sims3 family it says "an error has occured, please restart the application" but that doesn't work.I've tried restarting my laptop but that doesn't work either. I've even tried goin to the Saves folder, changing the name of the backup folder & deleting the original folder but that just deletes my family all together. I'm seriously lost and I'm hoping someone could help me.. Please
