	Log in to remove this sponsored message Guess I got lucky. I've been playing TS3 for at least a few hours every night this week. Haven't seen one glitch and all settings are set on high. I have no quality or performance complaints -it's been perfect. All of the game disks are mass produced -it's not like they're made by hand one at a time --you would think if one had any problems they all would......

	My dads had some problems with the story progression not turning off. I haven't tried~ For me the only glitch I've encountered is the one where the ultra speed through action doesnt work. >: ------------------- My thanks go out to SwiftBlade for letting me borrow his banner :)

	Ultra-speed works for me, it's just one notch above Triple-speed, time goes by 4-seconds. Not much of a ultra-speed but fast enough.

As you can see it's slightly more "playable" when you zoom close and don't have many other houses close to you. I have tried downgrading my ATI Catalyst drivers to different versions (9.4, 9.3, 9.2 and 9.1) from the newest 9.5 drivers that I use but it has made no difference. Also fiddled around with all settings in Catalyst Control Centre. Only noticed that trees don't load properly if you have Adaptive Anti-Aliasing enabled which I was not using anyway. Running with default clockrates did nothing either (as expected). The rig I'm using: Asus P5B (Basic edition, I have had it for like 3 years) Intel Core 2 Duo E6400 @ 3,0Ghz (same as with the mobo) 8Gb of Mushkin 1000Mhz DDR2 (never additions along side the GPU) ATI HD4870 512Mb (Sapphire, iirc) 64bit Vista Ultimate with SP2 EDIT: Stupid URL limit, gonna post last link in next. :<

Though...i've tried editing my settings, from fixing the quality from optimal, and more. I edited tons of other settings also and found out that is not the problem.

	I don't think these problems are related to the game necessarily... The game not "speeding up" is likely your computer being too slow/turtlenecked or it has most of it's resources tied up. My old computer was a P4 2.6ghz fsb 400 with DDR266.. and it really seemed like there was no speed-up at all, although it ran pretty good at normal speed and low graphic detail settings. I just this this guy: GA-MA790x MoBo Athlon 64 x2 7850 2.8ghz "Kuma" 4gb DDR2 1066 5-5-5-15 Sapphire Radeon HD 4670 512mb Windows 7 RC 64-bit SATA Raptor 74gb And now the time compression works great. When I first started playing with it graphically is fine, but after some point in tweaking it I started having the issues with the trees and the hair not being completely drawn. At this point I was using the drivers on the CD, but even after I upgraded them to the latest Catalyst 9.5 it persisted. I just disabled Adaptive Anti-Aliasing and Catalyst AI and the issues went away. Mip-Map detail was set for quality and everything else is set the application setting. I can play it with all setting maxed in the game but turn the Anti-Aliasing (Edge Smoothing) down one notch to keep the framerate at "insta-matic" speed.

	The graphic problem is really a game related in my opinion. Not completely game's fault of course since it only seems to happen on ATI cards, as far as I can tell they are not just bad induviduals. Since I have ran every single game without any problems in that deparment. Had some problems with my old memoryblocks though, so I replaced them last year. I guess we will just have to wait for new Catalyst version or a patch from EA.

	I had something like this whilst using the sims 2. All I had to do to fix it was to type a code into the bar that you type the cheats into, and it went back to normal. Maybe you can fix it the same way with the sims 3

	The problem im having with my game is that the screen randomly goes dark (as if someone had turned off the lights) and then git gets darker until the screen is completely black. You can still hear the sims talking and the game going in the background but you cant play, it completely freezes the computer. Only way i have is by restarting. It happens everytime

	With the ultra speed it is possible it is a glitch, but it is also possible that the speed up thing only speed up the sims signifiantly and the time is only sped up a small amount. Anyways the main purpose for the speeds are to speed up the sims. Agent_Chipmunk (my sister) observed that while watching me.

	Ok, I have awesome new for the people suffering from this "texture streching". I was browsing the official forums for the cure, and stumbled on this post which said clicking factory default button in Catalyst Control Centre fixes it. So I just tested it, and for my own suprise it actually worked. Now I only have to check if putting back my old settings bleeps it up again. But if it does, at least we know what was wrong.
